While not really news for others, but good news for my Mrs and I, although older news:

Our daughter got a good report in December, and she's now in the next class up in school.

Come to think of it, I can report the same good news, just for varsity, not school. Despite the chaos of 2020, both my ones did well.

Fantastic stuff..

My youngest did pretty damn well considering his gr 11 year was a total gemors.

As for the eldest we wait for matric results..the bugger left home this morning.. The big move to KZN.. Thankfully hubby is here so he can help with the move.. . And he is riding down behind his dad.. Just for our peace of mind[emoji1787]. Gets to spend some quality fishing time with him before varsity eventually starts (matric results pending of course) .. Yes there were a lot of mom tears when I said goodbye this morning... Actually I think our cleaning lady cried more than me [emoji23]

...........

Something great that came out of the gemors of 2020 is that both mine tried new sports, I suppose because the lack of organized team sports frustrated them. Both got back into the rock climbing that they used to do with my wife. One started playing gholf and both now surf. One got seriously into his fishing since his best mate got a boat. I worry a bit about the two of them out on the ocean, because small boats and the Cape weather is a tricky combination, but I recon it is still better than drunk and disorderly in the clubs. Pretty cool I think.

Both kids back at school full time. 1 x Grade 10 and 1 x Grade 7.

Halleluja

:D I asked a mother with 2 primary school kids how she coped with the home schooling last year. She laughed and said she coped ok except for the period when her booze ran out!

The other good laugh I had was from a mother who is an ear nose and throat specialist who super specialized in the surgical repair of destroyed eardrums for children. Basically, she has not operated since April last year and she got re-assigned to work the Covid ICU and high care wards at one of the major state hospitals. Seriously stressful work where many are by now burnt out! When I asked in January how she was holding up, she said if only they can open the schools she'll be OK!  :D
