Correct. All this stuff about "He must reveal his supplier/dealer" is off the mark.

With your gyming background I know you'll agree that the majority of gear being used these days is bought online/email only with faceless people who you've never met, will never ever meet.

I had a chat once with a guy who's been buying from a local SA supplier for 2 years and only knows a gmail account and that's it. He does his EFT payment and the gear arrives at his front door promptly and on time. It's all word of mouth ("boet, take this piece of paper with the email address, send them an email and say I referred you. He'll send you a price list - just tell him what you need, make payment and it will be delivered to your door. It's that simple").

I understand that everything under the sun is available on the street corner and on the internet........but that doesn't make it right. Somehow that EPO, which is not a placebo, and should be used with care and under medical supervision, or it is dangerous, found its' way from the manufacturer and via a dubious route to the internet supplier. How? Investigate, find the dealer, he is no better than the guy selling tik in the back alley. Catch him too, not just the end user.

Patch, how is this worse than doping?

We are not:

1. Stealing money by cheating

2. Taking wins from other clean riders

3. Driving sponsors away from the sport

4. Letting our country down

5. Giving the sport a bad name

Its not LITERALLY worse, but you know what I mean......

All you need for any of that is Google, as i posted earlier (but i see it was removed).

Everyone assumes there must be a doctor and a pharmacist involved. All you need is a computer and a debit card. This isn't the Tour de France, not every team as a specific doctor and supplier. Gear is flipping easy to come by, so is instruction on how to use pretty much anything. More often than not, the only person who knows there's doping taking place, is the doper.

Sorry to quote you twice, but to back up this statement of yours, I pulled this link off the Janssen website - the manufacturers of Eprex - the brand of EPO that Armstrong and his Discovery teammates used.

That PDF is straight off their official website. It gives you a full explanation of what Eprex does, what its side effects are, how you need to dose and administer the injections, etc.

So no need for a doctor or specialist at all - just DIY.

That's not even counting all the steroid websites that give pages and pages of advice for every compound under the sun.

how do you guys really think P.E.D. can be stopped????

this *** comes from WW2 IF not before, there is big money involved, its going no where, all sports, all countries its nothing personal its pressure to perform or you don't get paid.

guys say sponsors are running away??? yes they are,,,,when it starts to hurt the brand, when the athlete is on the tv every day different story, are you really that naïve to think the people pushing money down lances throat didn't know??? seriaaaas??

I dont think its really a case of balls, to me its more of a concern from a legal perspective.

Social media is far from a free for all these days, you need to be careful about what you say on there.

If it was a free for all then the troll in me(and believe me that troll is strong) would be having a field day with him.

There is no difference from a legal point of view when you post here on the Hub or on Instagram....

Lets be honest here, it is a case of hiding in the Hub.... besides, if he has been found guility of doping, you are allowed to call him a doper :)

I never implied that it makes it right, DJR. Just saying there's no point talking about going after the suppliers because very few people will ever know who their supplier is. All they have is a gmail account, nothing more.

I'm not an IT whiz, but from the little I know about the interwebs, there's no way you can find out who the owner of a gmail account is. Anyone can open one - no personal info required, no proof of address required, etc.

The supplier will know a lot about their customers - their full name, (most likely) company email address, banking details, and so on. But not the other way around.

I once received a spam email direct to my companys publicly advertised email address I use for all new sales enquiries.

It's from one of these roid suppliers - a local SA supplier. It's a Gmail account only, plus a 1 page price list of what he has in stock.

I could post his URL here to this thread right now for you all to have a look at. But I'm not sure if it's such a good idea.

Let me know your thoughts. If you say I must post the link I'm happy to do so. But if it's a bad idea, I'm just as happy not to.

I have to agree with Tombeej on this one, punishing the athlete is appropriate but short sighted. If you want to eradicate EPO from the sport you need to stop the flow of EPO to the athletes. Dopers should be encouraged to come clean and to disclose as much information as possible in return for a lighter sentence. The doper can then give evidence (if necessary) against the supplier.

I am hearing more and more about guys using EPO is Durban.... not pros but strong road and mtb riders who obviously have something to prove... it concerns me that someday soon I am going to come across one of them dying on the side of the trail/road due to an overdose/overuse and I will have to witness someone dying.

This is far more prevalent than many of you think.

Some say you once sent this link to Rourke....

You know what's worse than doping? People who are so vocal about him here, posting pics of his Instagram, yet nobody who does that actually had the balls to comment on these pictures....

My social media manager as forbid me from commenting :(
