Sticking to Vittoria. Currently rolling with a Barzo up front and a peyote out back. Also enjoyed the Saguaro. Haven't had a side wall cut or a flat in nearly three years.

I'm running Saguaro front and back at the mo. Keen on trying Barzo next...

I was happy with the Saguaro but I need fresh rubber and the store only had Barzo and peyote in stock.

*shameless punt for Ultimate Cycles Knysna for hooking me up.

Barzo front, Saguaro at the back during winter, Mezcal during summer.

A moment of silence for the poor chap who is going to spend his hard earned R's on Kenda rubber.

I agree, as we were leaving Modderfontein with our bikes on the rack, my wife's Kenda Nevegal exploded through the sidewall! Couldn't see any signs of cut/tear/damage just one moer of a bang. Conti fitted and no more problems!

Cont X King front and Maxxis Ikon rear but may just change rear to Race KIng.....still weighing up the options right now.No hassle with Ikon though.Nice combination.

Hijack:

Can a 26 inch tube fit into a 29 inch and vice versa?

Hijack off.

in an emergancy, Yes

Adding to this - a 26" tube can stretch, but will be under a little bit of stress at the valve area. A 29" tube fitted to a 26" wheel will pinch, meaning that you'll probably puncture down the line due to wear at the pinched area.

I am running Barzo up front. It is amazingly grippy. I just love it. I also had two punctures the last two rides where I got sprayed by sealant, once on ST and once on tar. On both of these occasions I just kept rolling, and the tire sealed well and is still running.

Thanks Myles.

Onza Ibex 2.4 up front with a cannis on the rear, really nice tires with great grip,. the cannis has very thin sidewalls so will be looking into the freeride casing when it gets released.
