In most cases, I'd lean towards stupid, but then if they load the phone app then just plain dishonesty.

Not sure if the route recce on Monday will include an attempt at the KOM... some guys are just too obsessed with sprinting on every bump.

HAHA, do it DO IT  :w00t:

Discovery told me on Facebook today that this race is 50% cash back for Team Vitality and there will be hospitality. Also that there might be a special offer of some sort, so I am not entering just yet....waiting to hear!

Thanks for the heads up. Woohoo, maybe we'll be rich.

Some seriously beeg potholes on the route, more so in the first/last 10km - the rain and trucks playing a big part in creating them.

Once through town and on the road to Carnival City the roads are great.

Shortly after turning right (just before Heidelberg), you're greeted with a view of mealie fields and the Jozi skyline in the (very) far distance.

If the wind blows like normal, the second half will hurt. Lekker!

G, what did you think about that ERPM "climb"? I rode it this weekend and don't recon its anywhere near long enough to cause any significant damage to the licensed groups.

Thanks for the info GM. So will the organizers push to get these potholes sorted or will we have to dodge them and the cars ?

That's great, although we'll probably have to wait 6 months to see the refund

I was quite surprised how short that bump was, it's actually relatively flat in comparison and Pinot even worth being concerned about.

The final drag up Jones is still a killer though, and I sure anyone going too soon will be caught (as normal).

During our ride yesterday, we had quite a good pace for the final 40km, but the continual stopping at robots was a bit frustrating. I don't think the revised route will be any different for the licensed groups - unless the wind howls from the Northerly directions, or perhaps a crosswind (beastly easterly).

I should hope so. Some of them are big enough to hide in... you and your bike! [emoji33]
