Makes me sick to my stomach to such a point where I want to take things into my own hands. We need a big clean up of all the dodgy scum hanging around our greenbelts looking for opportunities to steal and murder.

Something needs to be done.

my firearm competency begins on the weekend and in future I will carry with me and god help anybody who tries something.

In the wake of this latest atrocity there is hope that a community will unite, that lessons will be learned and that somehow this most recent tragic loss of a young life will not have been entirely in vain.

But deep inside our hearts, I suspect, we already know that this will not happen.

I have been at the coalface in three high profile homicide investigations over the passed eleven years, and in each one the killer has escaped justice.

As a society we know this to be true – we know it as victims just as surely as the perpetrators know they are unlikely ever to be caught.

So ‘we’ retreat ever deeper behind our barricades whilst ‘they’ become ever more outrageous in their mission to rob us of both our possessions and our loved ones. Where will this all end ?

Some people are hesitant to blame the Government, but I disagree – the buck stops at the top – at precisely the same place from which true leadership should emerge.

And yet it does not, and never will just as long as Zuma continues to rant on and on about racial inequality.

None of us need reminding about the atrocities of apartheid, we all know and feel the scars in one form or another, and yet we are burdened with an administration intent on stoking the furnace of racial divide – primarily, may I say, to cover up for their appalling inability to deliver on their promises to provide the basic needs and services to a largely impoverished electorate.

And what are our precious ANC legislators doing today, whilst Franciska’s killer remains at large ?

Busy fast-tracking draconian laws to ban tourists (mostly white people let’s be honest) who overstay their holiday visas for even a day – for whatever reason – from ever returning.

That’s racial hatred – pure and simple – and it comes from the top and filters all the way down to the man who sees in the eyes of a terrified teenage girl an opportunity to vent his own inherited hatred by taking her innocent life.

Her blood is on President Jacob Zuma’s hands just as surely as if he had killed her himself.

This tread made me so sad when I read it yesterday. I can't imagine what pain it must bring for a parent to lose a child let alone in this manner, but whilst watching the news last night and seeing her sister gut-wrenched it totally broke me.

Its times like this that I support Vigilante justice... Who wants that Idiot in jail where he can eat and watch tv for free. And then after a couple of years he gets out all smiling...

Like a pic I saw on one of the other news agencies this morning where 4 Zimbabwean's were caught after they robbed and killed a farmer in Limpopo. Then they threw his body to the Crocodiles. In the pic those !@#$%^ all have grins on their faces. That pissed me off ALOT!!

This is just unacceptable!

My core is shaken by this horror news and makes me super angry.

Listening to the radio this morning on my way to work I have to requote one of the listerners words.

"It's natural for people to fear for their safety and stay away but instead of doing that lets rather take back the forest and make it safe again"

I couldn't agree more with the above words.

Terriable acts like this happens in the dark and quite places.

Lets stand together and not allow such acts to take place again.

To the family!

Know that your lose should not be endured by any parent.

May her young soul find peace in the afterlife.

The Lyrics from the U2 song Sunday Bloody Sunday- which was written about the violent troubles in Northern Ireland back then-

" I can't believe the news today
I can't close my eyes and make it go away
How long? how long must we sing this song?
How long? how long?

'Cause tonight we can be as one - tonight

Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up, puts my back up against the wall "

and the song goes on.

These lyrics may as well apply to South Africa today sadly. It is a reality.

South Africa is a beautiful country that has become a war zone. Just try say no.

So when I cycle, I am cycling in a part of a war zone.

300 more murders per month are committed in South Africa in comparison to the 2015 death toll as a result of the war against ISIS in Iraq. Read that again.

Looking at 2015 worldwide murder rates the top 5 are all corrupt drug-infested violent South American countries. We know these to be war zones and would never want to visit there or live there. They are Honduras, Venezuela, Belize, El Salvador, Guatamela.

Next is neighbouring Jamaica. Then our neighbour where I have visited, Lesotho, 7 on the list and in the top 10 of the worst homicide rated countries in the world. Number 8? Another neighbour I have been to- Swaziland. Note: Lesotho and Swaziland were not subject to Apartheid not like South Africa was.

Number 9- Saint Kitts and Nevis, not too far from already mentioned Jamaica. And number 10 on the list- South Africa. Number 11- Colombia.

We have a higher murder rate per capita than drug infested Colombia. Read that again. Would you want to cycle in Colombia?

So I repeat- when I cycle in South Africa (anywhere in the country) I am cycling through a war zone. It is a fact, not a nice fact, but a factual reality and I need to be aware of this.

My wife only heard the name of the deceased this morning and realized she was the niece of a long and dear friend of hers. We know the parents and I met the kids around 2 years ago. I am even sadder and angrier than I was before

There was a very emotional call in session on Cape Talk yesterday afternoon during which it came to light that there have been several incidents including a horrific robbery of a mom with three kids at the entrance to lower Tokai, not very long ago.

I have to wonder why there is no security at this venue. Most if not all City of CT parks have security in attendance from dawn til dusk.  The Lower Tokai area is like a park and yet there is no security at all. It was only a matter of time before the crims began to prey on the visitors there.

I have never seen a patrol by SANP at lower Tokai, ever. Why not?

TMNP  are happy to ask for donations, plead poverty at every turn, get assistance with watering their trees among other things, but feel very little responsibility to the public of Cape Town.

To me this is yet another indictment of their "game ranger" management style which does not fit in with the needs of a diverse community living around a park that is situated beside a major city. There is plenty of security inside Cape Point where the tourist buses disembark - no doubt to protect the cash cow they have there, but sweet F all at Lower Tokai, where residents go for recreation.

Had their been security patrols at Lower Tokai, perhaps this incident would not have occurred. I don't know.

Rant over, for now.

Send them to Guantanamo Bay for Interrogation.

no need, we have old pro's in our midst. The TRC has a list of them.

but outside of my medieval desires, i really hope the cops catch the actual perp(s). calculating scumbags like the rhodes rapist are hard to catch. In many ways, i hope its him, so that they can finally nail that SOB and end the horror of his crimes. But its wishful thinking on my part that the rhodes rapist is special: plenty scum like him floating around. but hotdamn i want him found, and ended.

The sad part about this is that these "THUGS" will go to jail and probably live in better conditions they do at the moment. The F#%kers must suffer not live a life of luxury in the prisons. #BASTARDS!!!
