Seems bizarre

......The main focus of Mr Leukes and Mr Beukes is to drive recognition of those cyclists and administrators who were not recognised during the apartheid years as well as to provide guidance with regards to Transformation and Development within the National Federation. Significantly, the initiative will have a direct impact on Cycling SA’s Transformation and Development objectives.

Let me elaborate on my last post.

so another sport is being "transformed" big whoop. Not surprised at all.

It's not like Cycling SA is this amazing governing body which may be negatively affected by the introduction of the tranformers (can we call them that?)

I guess I found it really odd to bring back guys from the 70s and to frame the press release around apartheid issues.

that's exactly what i don't understand about that press release headline. Why phrase it that way? are they bringing in ja-boeties and playing open cards about it, or are they waving the previously-disadvantaged acknowledgement card.

That's a better write-up but still doesn't make any sense and looks like an old (really old) boys club.  Got a good friend whose dad was big in cycling administration in the 70s & she says it was the 1st sport to go mixed - can anyone comment on that?
