Need to get to the range again with mine. . As I understand from my heavy though there is a shortage of powder atm.

The explosion at Denel / Somchem a month or so ago did not involve the plant where they make rifle propellants. The shortages of one or 2 rifle powders is because they had to destroy a whole batch of powder that they already made and was not to specifications (S365 if my memory serves me right). Otherwise if you struggle to get what you want, it is most likely just your shop not carrying stock. There are local and imported alternatives for most of the commonly loaded calibres.

Ja, Tell me about Safari and Out Of Stock! What's with these people? I always struggle to get the bullets I need for reloading my range ammo.

Mainly S335 that is out of stock. Discontinued until 2019. Or whenever.

so I've been through the legal study book and it looks pretty straight forward and largely common sense. There a few questions where they ask specific points in the code and I'm useless at trying to remember each point and the section number. I understand what it's about but not the detail. Oh well, doesn't seem difficult

nice

you won't really be able to save time on the license. You can only apply for the license after you have the certificate.

i am going through an agency and they reckon it will take a few weeks to get all the paperwork and stuff together so I am starting with this

The P07 is a great pistol and very underrated

Why did you go with the 40 instead of 9mm?

i was waiting for someone to ask me that.

I have a small farm which i visit on weekends. the gun will have 2 functions.

1. obviously self defence. i will only carry the gun at the farm. i have no intention of carrying it in town. a lot of research tells me the 40 is more accurate over longer distances and also makes a bigger hole.

2. i spend a lot of time walking in the bush and sometimes happen upon the odd bushpig, bushbuck, jackal or honey badger. Should one of these take a dislike to me being near them i would prefer something a bit bigger than a 9mm to stop them. its not always convenient to carry a rifle in the thick bush.

3. i like it more :)

No man leave Stoffel the honey badger alone

i have no intention of hurting Stoffel or any of the other lovely creatures - unless they decide to tackle me or my dog. :)
