Chaoyang tyres?

The rep told me he basically sold out of a whole container of tyres just doing his LBS rounds before he got to my shop. They'll probably order a larger amount next time and possibly more models.

We have decent amount of 26" but 29" practically sold out.

Hoping to see a wider range of theire tyres imported and really hoping they bring something in 26" with some lekker knobs.

I like the tread on the Canis tyres, but al I can afford is Maxxis, and all they have in 26" is the Crossmark,I dont trust that on the front.

A bit of feedback for those interested: I decided to fit the zippering on the back and hornet in the front and have now done 2 rides - one ride was around 65km at Northern Farm and the other was 70km in the Spruit.

So far they've held up pretty well including some testy bits on the rocky sections on the Northern Farm black route. Grip has also been really good so I'm pretty impressed. I may even end up doing the Sani2C with them.

Will also like to know. Back wheel is getting a bit threadbare.

Is there any bike shops in Pretoria that stock these tires?

Plenty.

Cajees in Centurion.

Bruces in Shere.

I think Epic too.

Brilliant tyres. Have the Hornet in front and Zipper at the back. Ride is awesome and no punctures so far even without sealant in the front tyre.

Are these tyres available in 27.5 mtb? Where about close to George/Mosselbaai can we get a set? Is the 60 or 120 tpi the better tyre to go with running tubeless and what does the different Tpi's mean?

Googled tpi, do I understand it correctly that a TPI of 60 is a more rugged tyre, sidewall stronger, than a 120 TPI?

Any one used:

Cant find any reviews on this one:

The Chaoyang Viper 700 x 25c tyre is folding bead, dual compound tread with a 60 TPI. A great tyre for the road cyclist needing good grip and fast rolling speed.

  • Size : 700 x 25c
  • Folding bead
  • 60 TPI
  • Dual compound tread
  • Sharkskin puncture protection

I initially brushed the brand off when I first heard of them but I must say that I'm quite interested now. They seem to have a small range of gravity tyres I wouldn't mind trying out.

Any locals who have these in stock?

They are already the main sponsor behind the Brazil Enduro Series and this trip to Mount Zhagana to test out The Gladiator on some proper AM riding sure seems like they mean business.
