Mongoose! Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 It would have to lick itself clean at that price. quote of the day
Davedk Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I think they should call that model the Zuma for when salesmen are trying to tell people the price. there is gonna be confusion.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Hang on..... the R195k and R80k one have the same frame, shock and fork. So there's R115k worth of component and wheel "upgrades" you can do to an XT/XTR spec bike? Also, how are there 4 bike specs above the top end women's bike spec?Enve wheels, Chris king rear hub, superlightweight cannondale crank, carbon lefty, etc etc
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Oh and at the higher end, womens geo is a fad. Nothing more than a marketing ploy.
madbradd Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Enve wheels, Chris king rear hub, superlightweight cannondale crank, carbon lefty, etc etcSo R120k is USD 8k. Enve rims are 1kUSD each. Chris King rear hub cost the same as the other wheelset so you're up 2000 dollars. Fork is the same fork so no price difference there. (As per spec sheet)Frame is the same so no difference there (as per spec sheet)Price difference between XT brakes plus xtr mechanical to full xtr di2 is another 1500 dollars (if that). So we're 3500 dollars up. The only things left are the crank, seat post stem bars saddle and grips... For 4500 dollars. Maybe they need some LuvHandles to help with that price point.
madbradd Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 It would have to lick itself clean at that price. At that price it would have to clean me as well! Mongoose! 1

Lefty Wheelset is $,2700 excl CK hub. Add another $600 for that. So $3,300. Nope. Doesn't add up. Rather get the frame and spec your own parts. Edited April 29, 2016 by Myles Mayhew
Sitting slip Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 now it hits me its a specialized epic frame with a lefty stuck to it.

raptor-22 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) Nope. Far rather have a Thunderbolt, thanks The Habit is a far more versatile bike.Sadly Omnico don't like it much cos its not a 29er and they believe SA is 29er territory.Guess they not going to like the Scalpel much either since XS, S and M are 27.5.I have a feeling they simply won't import the smaller sizes and will sell Habits into the smaller size category instead and only M29,L29 and XL29 Scalpels Edited May 8, 2016 by raptor-22
