I read somewhere that having a hot shower or bath before your winter cycle or run is a good way to pre warm your muscles as well as to increase your hart rate getting you ready quicker + you will be warmer.

Any feedback on this.

Do not think it works so well.  But then again in 2 degrees anything feels cold.  And not having enough time between the shower to getting on the bike might be a bit of an issue as well.

 

Biggest problem I have is stepping out of the shower into a 14 degree house.  It feels more like a shock to the system

And just yesterday I read in a reputable source Men's Health that strapping ice packs to your quads / hamstrings during warmup will improve your performance.

They didn't mention the instant bronchitis with the package deal...

Just get dressed in the shower, that way you retain the body heat

Is it not only a thin outer layer that warms up and not deeper in your muscles.

 

I was under the impression that the body temp remains at a constant temp.
