In the last couple of weeks I've heard the same thing from probably half a dozen hardcore SS riders - nobody likes to feel like they're getting ripped off..... Ummmm, many Gauteng riders have singlespeeds in their garages because they jumped on the bandwagon and then found its not for everyone...... Besides, I'd rather pay R450 for 30km of singletrack than R399 for 54km through the sewers of Joburg.......

Looking forward to it, when i discussed it with my wife, she was so keen she wanted to do it too, so obvi organised her a ss. Going to be lekker, there will be lots of tears of joy(me) and pain (her).

I mean there's the compulsory beers (and sometimes shooters) during the "ride/walk/crawl". The fact that the entire field ends up on the podium means it's not really a competition.

Who you calling "not hard core"????? Some advice for the newbies - don't do it with your girlfriend/wife/mistress unless she drinks beer. The beer shortcuts and compulsory drinkage areas are hell if you're doubling up! It does make the downhills more exciting though...
