Cape Town locals speak up...

When the wind howls like it is (apparently) at the moment, what are the chances of it 'blowing out' come Sunday against all predictions..?

Prepare for the wind gods

THat's part of the legend that is the race formerly known as the Argus

I plan and prep as if the wind will be as strong on Sunday as it is today

Is it just me or are the goodie bags getting worse every year?

I know we don't enter for goodie bags but this is seriously disappointing, nothing of use except another water bottle...at least last year we received a small bottle of lube.

Get a little creative, put something memorable in there!

Bad news for you Okes afraid of the wind.  :whistling:

On my way to work this morning (after my last fairly hard session on the bike) I noticed the clouds are piled up high over the Hottentots Holland mountains. This normally means the wind is here to stay for a few days, and that it will be a strong one.

Just heard from my friends doing the TOGH that today's stage has been cancelled due to the high winds, they were suppose to go over Du Toits Kloof today, but the wind is making that too hazardous.

Eish......  :whistling:

Where do you get that from?

Windguru Cape Point has current winds at around 55km/h (gusts 70km/h) and on Sunday forecasted winds of around 40km/h (gusts 45km/h).

Took damn long enough. . . People must apply the student mentality of: "Any free stuff is better than no free stuff"

They can keep their siff Nivea Musk deo and future life, brand a pair of tire levers CTCT 2017, small and cheap but useful and memorable.

It's a sock war there at the expo

Finni, Sexy Socks and Versus within two pedalstrokes of each other

Falke was also there, Patch'

Falke? I better go back as I missed them.

Fox had some nice lumo yellow socks. But I nearly vommed when I realised I was holding 6" socks

your post dont count ... no phoddies.

This was the queue when I arrived @ 9:50 it was around the corner in the far distance after a short while.

They open the gates at about 10:45 and then we walked around the field (jealous of the green grass) and then the registration and then missioned around to the expo.

They weren't joking when they said wear comfortable shoes as its about a 1.5km walk.
