Yeah! a bit of North shore will go down well, elevated above the environmentally sensitive flora....(you can use that motivation if you want, free...) :w00t:

Already doing that in some areas. Not a lot yet, but in terms of crossing watercourses and stuff (of which there are LOADS) bridging makes sense.

I actually can't think of where on Tokai's slopes this might be incorporated into a trail. Maybe on the way to or back from bridal. Like the one Jonkers had. Just etched out of the mountain side along a jeep track. Session it once or twice before heading to the tracks.

There is one or 2 old lines on the jeep track.

o, and just after fairy garden heading up past my roots, there are 2 small wall rides.

The ones I am thinking of is alot higher and nearer to the snake trails.

Probably not built but rather some off course riding by some peeps

Well you wouldn't expect Duran to use a normal wheelchair now would you?

As most have probably heard or read by now, the restoration of the trails has been going great guns thanks to a combination of the PPA providing funding that has allowed two trail builders to weave their magic on some of the DH lines and the Snake trails. On top of this there has been a great response to the volunteer build days where a dedicated (to the point of insanity in some cases) bunch of hardy souls have worked their tails off every second Saturday for the last couple of months. I have seen guys leave the mountain with their hands bleeding, Yep that's right the volunteers have bled for you!

All of this is obviously great (except maybe the bleeding...) but more is needed. The PPA funds, while gratefully received and a fantastic boost, are not going to cover the complete rebuild and there are a bunch of other costs on the horizon. Which brings us to this -

The latest from TokaiMTB is that we now have a donations portal graciously hosted by Amarider to help us pay for all the other costs like fuel, heavy-lift labour to assist the contractors move material and stone to site, signs, poles, marshall bibs, etc..

https://www.amarider.co.za/donation/tokai-rebuild

If you can donate please do, everything will go into the trails and it may help us open up a little earlier than anticipated. Even if you can't donate please share the link on your social media, every little will help.

It's a shame there is only a *Like* button, for something like this we need a *Really, really Like* button or something.

Thanks though that is fantastic!!!

Done my bit for now!  :)

Edit: Roughly equal to what an activity card would have cost me for the past year, and that I refused to get while Tokai was closed. I challenge everyone else who refrained from renewing their activity cards to do the same and donate what you would have spent to this restoration project.

R 10 000 from us at Bike Hub HQ

We'll put the challenge out to all other bike businesses in Tokai and surrounds to do their bit!

Thanks for all the efforts to date chaps!
