Another site to sell bikes? Poll

The idea behind this is to creat a very interactive site to sell ONLY bikes and components (NO entries,clothes,tools and whatever else) in a way very similar to Auto trader so you an sort through brand,model,year ect. Just want some opinions

"Everything else it offers" like the classifieds for selling bikes and components with the security of Traders Vault to keep everyone safe?

No prob I was expecting answers like this , what i was trying to say is like on auto trader you can go Brand->Model->type->year  stuff like that to narrow it down super fast 

 

this is just something I thought of a while back and would just like to get some opinions

I would not use it as on bikehub there is a community so one has some form of comeback/support and a vetting system going. I don't like buying bikes or biking goods on gumtree either.

I don't think the bike market is big enough to warrant that level of detail.

 

You can already use the search terms to narrow down your options

Just FYI Bike Hub will have this level of filtering for complete bikes (Brand > Model) very soon

Sounds like a great idea...

 

Just a few suggestions to consider:

• Maybe think of adding a forum chat type thing to draw the masses
• Having some kind of stolen bikes registry would be useful
• Incorporate a private messaging system so members can chat to each other
• Have a special section for bikes with vertical shocks

Then come up with an original name like "The Hub for Bikes" or something similar.

Year model wont help cos no one on the classifieds seems to have a clue what year their bikes are anyway. It's either 2-3 years newer than reality or if they know it's *** old they just say I don't know

why dont you just add this to bikehub?

Sadly though it will still be at the mercy of people choosing the correct fields when listing their stuff. 

 

What would be nice though is if you could prevent ad titles from using the word BARGAIN
