Question: my bike has just gone in for its first service. 1230km down.

Was told they needed to replace the front wheel bearings, pivot and BB bearings.

Is this normal? I've heard bearings can dry out while in shipment but this seems a little ridiculous.

The bike itself is absolutely incredible, just hope all that awesomeness isn't coming the price of daintiness.

Keen to hear the rest of your experiences.

Have you ridden in wet conditions at all? If so this will also explain why you need to replace bearings.

Scalpel 3

Medium

Still need to weigh

Replaced XT gruppo with XX1 Eagle

Look pedals and will need to replace the tyres, apparently they are too flimsy and need to get some cages the weekend.

Hoping it'll be under 11kg at least...

I have about 5 plugs in my front tyre. As soon as they give up the ghost or wear out it's Conti protections for me. X-king front, Race King back.

My oupa het altyd gesê goeie begrip het 'n halwe woord nodig......

I think the guy refers to mud and grind getting into everything.

I truly hope you have a better setup to wash your bike.........  :whistling:

For those looking for extra range without increasing chainring size, have a look at the E-13 TRS+ 11sp cassette. It needs an XD driver, but you'll get a 9-46T range for your trouble, which is wider than Eagle.

They're still on the water, but should be landing in the next week or so.

Can someone confirm the max chainring size? If 36T isn't possible then Eagle seems a waste.

That thing is a work of art. May be my next purchase together with a 30/32t oval instead of the 34 I have now.
