I have a suspicion... I think it will be yates to blow up Louis to out last and out climb him in the next 2 days - Yates pushed hard with Martin also a few times and I think fatigue is going to catch up.

But first to go will be Nairo and Alberto.

I see Froomey, Uran and Bardet at the end. Froome said he is feeling stronger every day.

Uran and Bardet have looked super strong and Uran seems to be keeping up quite easily.

Martin I see somewhere in between.

This is a fantastic tour! Loving it all the way.

Tend to agree with you. Yates won't attack and blow up, no incentive to attack, he needs to defend. Yates could blow up when Bardet, Aru and Uran start attacking Froome in tandem and the pace hots up. Louis needs to go with that move and he might just make some time on Yates. I fear that he won't be able to make 4mins on Yates in a single final hilltop finish, plus there is the TT to come where Yates should be better than LM.

For White to be an option he needs Yates to pop on a climb in the middle of a stage and lose contact with the GC group.

I am starting to realise that there are only a handfull of stages left of this Tour, almost makes me sad...

Today and tomorrow are the days that will define who is willing to take on Froome.

I have an idea that someone is gonna blow today, tomorrow definitely one or more.

I don't like the fact that Meintjes is so skinny and ribbed. To take on a GT, you need some fat reserves on your body. I think Louis might be running out of energy.

Have you seen what Froome looks like ?

He's just skin and bone and actually looks like there's something wrong with him.

I'll gladly give him some of my fat though, he must just ask.

Skeletor has looked like that for ages, he seems to cope fine though.

Talking of skin and bone, I saw this last night.. YOH

I can't see LM attacking... well not very aggressively anyway but I'm pretty sure Dan will give it his best shot... and probably blow up. It's gonna be good to watch.

Hrs still in the young rider category - As are others

On a fantastic curve of development - As are others

Peak performance is possible at age 27 or thereabouts Many guys his age that will contest for Yellow in a few years, and probably some new ones too.

All to be revealed

A second consecutive top 10er is stunning

Now to lean into that top 5

Unfortunately, he's freelancing and team support is integral to higher honours.

I think you guys are missing my point, and defending LM before trying to understand what I am saying.

These things listed above, is simply echoing what most here, and I already know and agree with. But he isn't the only one in that boat. There are others too that are being developed, some just out the White Jersey category. Bardet, Quinatana, Chaves, Yates etc are all still going to be a round for long time.

The question that keeps coming up is about his ability or desire to attack. It is an essential skill that is needed to win, and you don't just learn once you are 27. If little lion cubs didn't play fight, they would get clapped once they get to adult size.

If he is going as hard as he can and simply can't muster an attack, then we have a concern.

If he can attack and isn't, then why?

Again, I am not telling him how to ride, I am not a DS and know little about cycling, but I know enough to say that unless somebody attacks they don't win. Else we must just be content with repeat "Its so awesome having a saffa in the top 10" each year.

If you read this as anything negative on LM, and not just as observational, then read it again.

We first met Louis last September in a stage of the Vuelta that was close to our house. Last Friday we met him at the Tour. I'd say he was calmer and more confident this year than he was 9 months ago at the Vuelta.

I have high hopes for him and I believe he knows what his limits are and what his long term plan is. We're watching with interest :-)

Agree with Patch. (spit, splutter, cough)

Is why I said a few times already, LM must stop following wheels around like a obedient puppy, and attack the guys.

We know he can, and has shown already that he can ride guys off his wheels on those steep inclines.

I think and hope he is following a long term plan (5 year or something like this) to develop his abilities to be more than the already excellent climber he is.

These abilities take time and usually the quicker the gains the harder the fall..... so perhaps we need to be patient?

Something like serving an apprenticeship.....

Helluva apprenticeship so far ????
