Bat Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Thank you everyone for the advice given so far. Just a bit more information: I have come done from about 121kg in May to about 112 now. Slow progress, but it is coming down.My Wahoo Kickr has doubled my training kms because I have more opportunity to train now and I am already seeing some results.I am a runner as well and is well aware that weight comes off when running, but I have trained and built up to a 21km in July (if I remember correctly) but then switched to mostly cycling trying to build up for the 94.7. I have done 5 Two Oceans marathons and too many other marathons and ultras (up to 56km) to remember and attempted Comrades a number of times but failed to get to the finish line yet. This is however a number of years ago (last Two Oceans in 2009) and somehow it seems that my age (51) is causing weight loss to be much more difficult that it has been in years gone by.I am 1.91m, so my ideal weight is maybe in the mid 80's, but will be very happy with a 95. I have not weighed less than 100kg in the last 20 years, even with all my running.I am a data freak and will analyse and study my training data to try and improve and is in constant competition with my previous training sessions. My FTP has been about 180W @ 120kg and now it is about 210W @ 112kg, so I have improved my W/kg quite a bit and I can see a sizable increase in speed up hills, but there is still a lot of work to do as most of my speed loss is on hills. On a perfectly flat road I can maintain 30km/h, but up a 4% incline I struggle to maintain 10km/hWell done Peekay. You are an inspiration for many of us to. Just stay motivated and stick to your goals and the rewards will come.

ScottCM Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 So how did the revised I Team do at 947? Did you guys ride together and achieve a sub 3?
Frosty Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Did you guys ride together and achieve a sub 3?There was never a plan to ride the 947 as the "new" I Team. It's all about starting in 2017 at smaller races and possibly training rides.
