Not HP, Christiaan De Wet just past the new Virgin Active coming from Clearwater side. Posted a pin on previous page.

Thanks, somehow my brain erased essential part of the title of the thread. Blame it on painkillers as part of recovery of collarbone op yesterday.

Do ride that stretch very often as does my wife so scary stuff

FEK....I thought that stretch of road looked familiar....its cuz I ride it on my way to work...rode it this morning....between Wilgeheuval (sp) and Honeydew GM...VERY close to home for me.

I try and ride on the yellow line and next to the traffic to give these effers space to take the inside line - hopefully without taking me with them...you can kinda see by the vid that the taxi has limited/no brakes as he didn't make an attempt/simply had no brakes to slow before taking out the rider...

Made me think...so now you get hold of taxi operator and stab him (I carry a knife) and or generally F him up - would I go to jail? He started the fight after all....

Glad he is ok - barring grazes etc.

Hi All,

be aware :

I only have this twitter link ...

the video shows what can happen

If I say whats on my mind, Ill be handed to the equality court and receive an Aunty Penny type of fine.

What I can say is these fucken bastards need to be taken off the roads one way or another.

That applies to people who hate their jobs or have a *** jobs and are not willing to do something about it............you need a job to pay for your bikes!

Unless you don't need to work and can afford to cycle.........now that is the plan to work towards

I'm almost there. . . .

But the reality is that they will never be taken off the road. The reality is that SA roads is too dangerous for cycling and there is nothing that can be done to make the roads safe enough. The only sure thing that can be done is to not cycle on roads with car traffic.

Then you have this “gem” of a comment on the Facebook post which I presume was one of his ”friends” cause he commented on the post. (don’t know if one can comment if you are not friends)

I live in Magalies and I assume this Mr Dover, when he mentions breakfast runs, is not one of those wankers who flies through the village on his motorbike or the Harley GIrls who think they can stop and direct traffic when and where they want....a friend who used to own a shop here in town and myself used take bets on how many ambulances we would hear on a Sunday, sent out to scrape the bikers up off the roads when they invariably wipe out..!

Here's wishing the cyclist a speedy recovery. I was also hit by a taxi driving like a hooligan in the yellow lane a few years ago near Germiston lake. Driver was also getting ready to make a run for it when my riding partner stopped him. I got off relatively lightly with a dislocated shoulder and a few roasties. Cops arrived and went through the motions, but nothing ever materialised. I hope this case is different and they nail the b@stard.

Ja well what shall we say............

A bad day cycling is better than a good day working.

No BSG, my best friend could of been killed, his wife a widow and his mother and father lost a son. Any day at work is better than that.
