Patchelicious Posted November 14, 2016 Share Ag tog....another one of Mr Lavern's rides probably....R1000 plus entry for sure (Remember Vets Worlds warra warra?)And bad roads. jimmycool Posted November 14, 2016 Share My original guess was the Cape... But, the .ics download from the site has the following included under location: LOCATION: Midlands -KZN/South Africa That's in my hood.
jimmycool Posted November 14, 2016 Share I have always thought a pretty cool/ tough route would be the comrades up route then following on up through pmb up old howick rd through hilton, then on to howick and all the way up the underberg road to himeville culminating with a mountain top finish at sani pass. (Once it has been tarred)That should add up to about 260km give or take and about a whole shedload of climbing! (Around 4000m I would guess) Edited November 14, 2016 by jimmycool Nibali
Spinnekop Posted November 14, 2016 Share Spunds like a name we should be aware of?Famous for organising World Champs Vet qualifiers. And couple of years back the actual Amateur Worlds. Cost a penny to partake and the roads were so bad the TT was a joke. But that is only from what I hear.So a glorified local race just to ask euro price entry because....you know....worlds. Antoo Posted November 14, 2016 Share Alec Lanferna is the name that you're looking for. Been behind several cycle events in the Midlands, incl this week's ladies UCI race here in the Midlands.Like anyway, some amazing routes out here, just need to know your way around Spinnekop and Griffin

But lets see first before I judge....Saw an article on bicycling yesterday, your guess about R1000 plus was close enough - according to the article an individual entry will be R990. Danger Dassie Posted November 15, 2016 Share Was fortunate enough to ride parts of the route recently, sadly can't say anything until L'Etape make the official announcement on the 23rd when entries open. The event itself is only in May next year though.Suffice to say though it's a beaut route to ride and the roads were ok, saw roads guys busy on a few sections that were patchy. lukeram Posted November 16, 2016 Share rode the Le'Tape Korea about 2 weeks ago and loved it. was around 130 kms on closed roads (rare in Korea) here's my blog about it. http://www.mrlikerbiker.com/2016/11/07/froome/ In summary great day out and if you can start at the front then you get good time with Froome. Awesome race village too and they usually give away a froome dogma at the event! https://www.strava.com/activities/766083107 hope I can make the SA one.
