Done...the ignore setting works like a charm :)

in some cases a persons opinion carries a bit of weight...especially if they they are a positive contribution to a forum...some are better off ignored.

it is a simple...

go to my settings..

"ignore" preferences...

type the name and bingo...gone

you never have waste the energy reading their comments.

The word 'hangry' is a concise way to describe a common feeling. Hangry is a clever portmanteau of hungry and angry, and an adjective that describes being irritable due to hunger.

Oh no my bad cant be that..

the good, the bad, the ugly...

Find what works best for you and make it work. If I had to eat a loaf a day I would be back to over 100kg in just a few days.

We all know its easier said than done, and mentally a big task. I've been through it myself in the last 18 months and went on many rollacoaster rides before getting to where I am.

I know what works in my body so I just stick to it. I can ride back to back days without feeling flat, I recover quicker and can go longer just by eating the foods I need.

I still eat carbs, but quality carbs. Not white bread, white rice, pasta etc.

I visisted a dietitian last week and just waiting on the updated eating plan, its a vegetarian plan but happy to share it with you if you like, just so you can get some idea's.

How is the Vegetarian diet going ?

I started experimenting with a vegetarian diet since end of December.

For me the most difficult part about the whole experiment is the social aspect.

I might extend my experiment to 3 months, currently weighing around 72 kg so for weight loss I don't think I will see a dramatic difference.

The experiment is more about performance gains and health benefits.

Isetech, gotta be honest, it's pretty hard to help you along on this journey as you seem hell bent on going against the grain on most modern thinking (excuse the pun) and pretty much ignore all given advice in any case.

You admit that this whole thing is a long term process, yet delay on getting started? Insist on finishing all the x-mas goodies in the pantry? Try convince the rest of us there is nothing wrong with eating a loaf of bread a day? It doesn't make any sense to me... talking about losing weight is one thing, but you've gotta walk the walk. Enough with the excuses  ;)

Less carbs... trust us. I don't care if bread is cheap and easy, we're not 15 anymore and it just doesn't work. Some is fine if you like, but the more you cut it out, the better.

More out than in, it's a very simple concept... Myfitnesspal is your friend - use it, even if just to get started and to get an idea of where the weaknesses in your diet are.

Yes chocolates are bad for you... not cocoa that's in 85% dark slabs, chocolate that is full of sugar, sugar that makes you fat, messes with energy levels etc etc
There is sugar in so much of what we eat today it is scary! Bottled bean salad as a prime example I just picked up on the other day. Read labels

Coffee is a healthier vice for most of us... caffeine keeps us going and it's pretty much guilt free

Avoid binges, a little treat once a week isn't the end of the world, life must still be fun, but you can't keep dropping the ball and think you're going to get ahead of the curve. I know your goal weight is 100kg's, but that's still heavy overweight... when you get to 100 keep charging ahead - you'll be in the groove, send it home.

Keep hitting the miles on the bike, it all adds up and will certainly help

Get going... asap!
Good luck

I've found out I'm insulin resistant, and a proper LCHF diet works for me.

At least, i THOUGHT it was LCHF. Turns out it wasn't really. So I've gone to the extreme, I'm now practically NO carb, and eat above-ground veggies, add fat where I can, eat butter like others eat cheese, moderated alcohol (as a homebrewer this was tough) and I ride more.

I've also experimented with intermittent fasting (24hrs) as well as fasting for 5 days at a time. And trust me, getting on your bike after not eating for 4 WHOLE days may be daunting, but getting some strava near-PBs during the ride and feeling great is, well, great!! Since Nov, I've dropped 8kg and feel better than in a long time. This has been a long hard road, trying to find what works for me. It won't for everyone, but I'm happy.

For me, not relying on carbs for fueling on and off the bike is great. Am I fast on the bike? No. I never was, but I'm not paid by anyone to win, I pay for my sport to have fun. And that's what it's all about, and this is part of it for me

FYI, fasting for me is water, salt, coffee. I've started skipping the cream in the coffee. It wreaks havoc with ketosis.
