Bandage. Doubles as tp in extreme emergencies.

Jokes aside, I've ridden with a bandage on me for the last 25 years. Ever since one of my school mates hacked his leg open on his chainring and I just happened to have a bandage in my saddle bag (yes, I also used to ride with toe clips   It was the 90's ffs!).

Yo this is no excuse they did have clipless mtb pedals in the 90s!

Depends. if you're in the berg crossing freshwater every 5km then that's taken care of.

You can get away without TP too then, as a full bottle is basically a portable one of these

all things being equal, a multitool is what you really need the most

Dip into that bib and grab a bit of chamois cream. Not only will it help moisturise those chapped lips, it will also stop you licking them and making them worse

I think this is one of the funniest replies I have read on theHub....

Agreed.  It also happens to be the most stomach churning comment too!  I think I threw up in my mouth.

Jassus Grebel, that is some twisted sh$t!

Are you planning on eating this raw? Only 1 thing, so you are not allowed to carry matches

Just banter. But I do actually carry food with me.

No energy bars, gels or anything like that. Sometimes fruit, biltong, jelly beans.

But mostly I just stop at the garage and grab one of these.

I won't say its the one thing I always have. But if you see me on the trail.

Chances are I probably have a pie in my bag... or I've already eaten it.

So my guts went properly south during a little run on the first day of wartrail earlier this year, my 2c is that buffs are far too long and can be torn into 3 for if you need tp, if you sweating enough it becomes like a wet wipe #winning

Squirt barrier balm sachet weighs minimal, great for emergency if you start chaffing on a long ride/run, also really great lip ice, I got through EA using the barrier balm as lip ice cos lost my zambuk somewhere in transition on 1st day

But how will you get the smell out of your bibs?

I don't normally bring my bibs anywhere near my nose, so the smell doesn't worry me. What do you do with yours? [emoji23]

1 thing: Cellphone

But then I always ride with a multitool as well. In my multitool there is a medaid card and R20.

Weird things in my backpack:

Kleenex, space blanket and a tiny 1st and kit.

I've seen a lady go into shock after a fall, space blanket helped alot until the medics arrived. And I've given a bandage to a mate who had to take a veldtie, he reckoned it was softer than 2ply.

With a fresh baby in the house, I can freely say that sudocream makes for great chamois cream, and that bepanthen is amazing on chapped lips and saddles ores.
