They need more facitlites in the valley to support those living there. However, they are a commenting authority on Environmental Authorisation applications via their Environmental and Heritage Management branches. And let me tell you something, there are some real tree huggers in some of those E&HM branches. I can't comment on planning applications though.

There's apparently a demarcated bit of state owned land in Noordhoek that has been earmarked for a public school since the 70's.

Another entrant into the highly competitive private education market. That said, not sure how a school in noordhoek is going to increase traffic on chappies. I'm sure it aims to attract students from noordhoek, kommetjie, fish home etc. That said, any new development needs to scrutinise especially with regard to it's impact on infrastructure. Cape Town has a Serious traffic problem and water shortage which can both be attributed, in part, to increased development without Improvements in infrastructure.
