Cane rat; so-so, probably delicious when you're really hungry but I'm not rushing out to set more traps.

Edit: I've tried some other animals too, but for fear of upsetting the liberals and vegetarians lets say the cane rat was it :whistling:

How many vegetarians would be on this thread?

Dude, his wife is away, there is no need to use the word "chilled"!!!

When my wife is away, we end up using lawn furniture to braai our food, at 2am.

Didn't even know you were there that night..... was a rough one!

It has to be done.... this weekend, and next weekend, and and and and.

About a staple side with braai in this house.

Some butter, garlic, grated mature cheddar, crispy onion, almond flakes (although next time I'll roast it a bit first) oh, and just few feta crumbs on each mushy...

Put it on mild coals, when the above starts to boil it's done.

Tomorrow I'm braaiing a flattie Chicken. It's marinating already. I can't wait. Some baby and sweet potatoes on the side. Maybe even a Braai broodjie. I'm salivating already.

Buy a normal marinated chicken or non marinated chicken and cut the spine out. Cut the breast bone a bit and hey presto.

Next time.

Ok, back to the topic.

My vegan daughter heads back to University today and the two of us have for the last week cooked and baked dishes we could both eat. I did snack on biltong and put yogurt on my oats, but other than that I only ate vegetables, pulses, fruit and a vegan lemon drizzle cake....I actually enjoyed it.

BUT

As my wife is away, I am going past the Local Grill this afternoon and getting myself 600g of 40 day aged free range sirloin on the bone or similar 750g T-bone and will be braaing for one tonight.

Baby potatoes, avo, a bottle of Mullineux Syrah followed by an Almond Magnum.....Yumm

Right. Change of plan. A mate's wife is away for the weekend so it will be tomorrow.

I got the butcher to cut me two X 800g steaks off this little baby....54 days dry aged.

Something else: braai stories!

So some guys I know went for a braai at a dam near Bfn. Obviously they got plastered. Somewhere during the night the fire was lit and one lonely soul stuck a stick through a piece of wors and attempted to grill it over open flame.

The stick he used caught fire and his dinner fell on the edge of the fire.

There was no other stick near him to scrape the piece of wors from the edge of the fire.

So his buddy was sleeping near the fire...he used his buddy's hand to scrape the wors from the fire.
