this thread deserves more airtime...maybe members can start posting their steel pride(s)

Zini 531, this Zini is very compliant and can be ridden the whole day. The setup feels alive underneath you, full shimano 600 tricolor, dura-ace hubs laced to mavic rims.

Local built frame by Gotty or pukka Italian Zini?

Built by Gotty. Dont think we should sell ourselves short, SA has some great builders.

Just asking.

My first proper bike was a Italian Zini with Nuovo Record.

Does anyone know where the Double Century 2019 "DC on Steel" team originate from?

I was green with envy as we passed them on the DC last year. If they have an opening I would like to join them in the next DC   ;)  :D

Only been able to ride along green belts and roads for now with Lock Down. The bike feels good, but riding rigid off road will be a learning curve I think.

The 22mm Roval carbon rims with the 2.4" Ardent's do not feel like the best of combinations, with the right tyre pressure being hard to get right....I just do not 100% trust this combo yet.

It must roll incredibly quick with that wheel and tyre combo, yet still have enough plushness. What don’t you trust the ardent’s ? Or would you just prefer wider rims? Riding a rigid certainly takes some getting used to that’s for sure . Tyre choice and pressure is critical . This mornings ride with the 38’s was harsher. The difference between them and the sawtooth 42’s is a fair bit.

Felt a little beaten this morning after my ride.
