Grub screws for flat pedals

HI Folks,

I need to replace a few of the pins on my flat pedals, which are basically just grub screws (please see pic). I've tried a few hardware stores in stellenbosch but have found nothing. Any idea where I can get some replacements?

Go to Paarden Eiland. If Bolt and Nut Centre doesnt have them. Topfast will.

Try apple hardware in Strand as well. Else Bearing Man in Strand will also be able to help.

Looks like about an M3 grub screw

If all else fails, try South End stores in Strand. They have surprised me with what they have on hand multiple times

what Skollie said. Most engineering fastener supply type places will have them. Hardware stores won't.

Yep. Go to a proper nut and bolt shop and you'll get them for a fraction of what you'll pay at a bike shop. It's not the sort of thing your average hardware shop will carry.

as per their website:

 

DMR Standard Pins

Standard length M4 x 8 x 0.7pitch replacement Pins for DMR V8 or V12 pedals

 

those are pretty standard grubscrews. you should get a hand full for around R50

My Spez flats use grubscrews ....  while my Shimano use small bolts ....

 

 

Best remove a sample and make sure you get the correct item.

 

 

Fastener Warehouse in Brackenfell may well have what you need.  For grubscrews I would also contact West Coast Bearings in Brackenfell

 

 

Also get a bottle of LockTight

So I phoned Timbercity Stellenbosch and they ordered me the screws. Took two days. Charged me R2/screw. I bought 40 as my pedals take 10 per side (I think). They fit perfectly and was super easy to install. M4.07.8 for the V12s
