Chris Froome returns adverse analytical finding for Salbutamol

You asked “but why is it on the banned list”. It’s not banned, me and you could also use it, as could everybody else in the peloton.

Now you are talking about limits.

Apologies for using banned and not controlled

No problem? There was an AAF, Froome was notified, he spent a wad of cash on doctors, handed WADA a 1,500 page report, WADA reviewed said report and decided there was either a fault in the test or that conditions on that one day in Spain were such that Froome's urine had an abnormal amount of Salb in it. That is a little more than "no problem".

To be fair it sounds like you don't really know how the system works or what the difference between banned and controlled is. Perhaps some research on your side will answer your own questions?

We all know how the system works.

Your "research" confirms it

What we can take from this is WADA have no confidence in their procedures when it comes to certain substances and if you have deep pockets you can argue yourself out of just about anything without having to prove that you did nothing wrong.

More and more athletes will use this type defence to get themselves off the hook for AAF's..if WADA were working in a way to test for micro dosing they can forget about it, it won't hold up.

Fixed.

Most of us said from the start that this is more a buggerup from Wada side than from Sky.  For me it is simple (sort of).  If you put something on the Controlled/banned list, at least know what you deal with.  There should be no grey area.  If there is a grey area it should stay off the list until they have done the research as to what the products does/does not do.

Was more a case of poking holes in the testing process.

This is probably a good thing going forward - using such an indirect measure as urinary excretion volumes to predict if the maximum allowable dosage has been exceeded has always been impractical and hugely error prone. WADA should have changed this protocol long ago - and they knew it was inaccurate and still used it... seems like they are trying to avoid some liability now...

Micro dosing? What does this practice have to do with asthma medication. Micro dosing doesn't work with salbutamol because it has an efficacy threshold as far as I understand. It has to be present in a minimum concentration before it helps with brocodilation and a much higher level to have any fat burning benefits

Clearly innocent till proven guilty only applies to everything other than sport and doping? Froome has now been officially cleared of wrong doing based on him taking steps as he is rightfully entitled to do - and people still want to label him as guilty.

I'm sure as hell glad that none of the aforementioned people have anything to do with our legal systems.

To be fair, I think he has done some research, but mainly on cyclingnews.com. . . .

I see one of their writers has decided to quit because she didn’t like this outcome.

Didn’t quit about Astana’s 5 positives in 1 season, cyclists dying in their sleep due to overly thick blood, but this was too much.... ok ????????
