Yes it would seem so yes..there are reports that it was mixed with alcohol..the team deny it..but it's not far fetched to think that it was what resulted in a hospital trip...there does seem to be more behind it.. perhaps a previous issue and this has given the management an opportunity to cut staff. Well they didn't wait 3 months to release a statement..they did so the following day..pretty transparent to me....they have said there wasn't alcohol involved..the riders havent said anything different yet..so we wait for either the riders side or the press to dig up something more. I haven't read anywhere that there has been previous issues with the 3..maybe there has been but no one has mentioned anything..and no previous issues has since been mentioned by the press.. not that I have seen in any case

Both have been linked to abuse/dependency issues and some flat out weird side effects but neither are particularly difficult to get hold of or prohibited by any sporting body (as far as I know).

 

Termination of contract just sounds way too serious a consequence for sleeping pills.

 

Either Lotto were for looking for a way to dump Lobato or something crazy happened.

 

My guess would be "recreational drug taking".

Noctamid is a benzo which ranks very high on my "hell no" list.

To me they are transparent - not sure if Path wants some dirty info to throw them under the bus further? 

 

Team handled it well, put the info out saying it wasn't approved and they gone. That to me is the truth. Wether they were doing lines off a hookers left butt cheek at the time is none of anyones business.

 

Not being transparent would be in the lines of "We parted after a miscommunication and wish the rider well" with no info at all about the pills or anything.

I absolutely agree..

 

I like this team..I like them even more now..we won't know if there has been an issue in the past with sleeping meds...and this was the straw that that broke the camel's back..

 

But news just came in that the one has been booted and then other 2 have been given a lengthy suspension.

 

To me his is dealing with the issues..if as a team your inforce your team's code of conduct and have the right ethics the sport can move forward...not every team have the balls to act..they have and support them for that.
