So I upgraded my 2x to 1x. Not the first time I have done this.

Now, I have two XTR cranks. One is 104bcd. The other, 96bcd.

The 96bcd, the female chainring bolt is 9mm. On the other it is 10mm

A stupid thing like a crank from the same manufacturer and just zero standard.

Dude, this is just a money making scheme I tell you.

Things like bottom brackets, brake calliper mounts, seat posts...WHY!!???

Short rant

DUB was made with the idea on reliability of gxp and stiffness of BB30 ( sram say they know BB30 seals about as well as A concrete o-ring)  , holup that means some engineer signed off ( or was told to ) on BB30 knowing full well the bearings were tiny and the sealing of the unit was limited ......i smell fish

XTR. No mixing and matching allowed.

Hmpf. This is the part I like. I just bought some parts for me crank at Rapidé of which, as I understood it, is chainring bolts specifically for a 1x setup for xtr.

So an expensive, over engineered, standardless piece of hardware is hopefully changed with R80 chainring bolts.

When people have to find solutions to problems that should not have existed in the first place.......
