@peetwindhoek I've used the 2 side by side ones and if you purchase the long strip(can't remember the actual name of this) it becomes quite adjustable and you can move it away from your legs. I got mine from EVO cycles. Quite pricey, but a quality product made to solve a problem.

So at this stage I am using my Merida Carbon MTB for the Munga. I really do not want to carry any weight on my back so decided to go with bottles on my mtb. However the Carbon Full suspension frame is made for one bottle. Any good products to add bottles to the bottom frame and maybe on the forks? Have been looking at Wolftooth products.

Dunno if your question has been answered, but Topeak make a product called versamount. It is basically 2 cable ties with bosses attached to it - you can attache a cage pretty much anywhere on the bike.

Oh, and cheap.

Here is one on my Cotic (the cage on the seat tube).

If you're riding a hardtail you can attach a bottle to your seatpost, one on the bottom of the downtube, one on the seat tube, and one on the inside of the main triangle, and you have 4x750ml bottles - more than enough. And nothing protruding at weird angles.

Did I imagine a post somewhere saying the GPS route has been published already?

I know according to race manual we get it the week before the ride but I am sure somewhere over the weekend I saw a post saying it was now available. Maybe I'm already getting Munga Hallucinations :w00t:

My setup from Wolftooth double bottle adapter and the bottom one is fitted with cable ties. Works perfectly for me... 2336cb3985ee55d025d9b09a4334da76.jpg8ce7e3a2287d8474693b94741a397b93.jpg

I know cable ties are great in an emergency, but this does look a bit heath robinson for my liking. over a long period of rattling with a potentially heavy load, I do hope you used Hellerman.

My preference for this would be a decent hoseclamp, just put a strip of innter tube to protect the frame first.

Was just about to post this, too. Cheap to get as well.

I think it was probably the link to the weekend mini Munga ride

Get some Topeak Versamount. It's a cable tie with rubber backing and threaded bosses. You can mount anywhere on the bike without scratched, looks neat, and is cheap.

Edit: Sorry I see I already posted about this earlier in the thread.

Do you expect the route to be different to previous years?

No idea. Doubt it, but until we see it who knows.

You joining us Gary?

I thought about it, but no. My goals: 2019 - 1000 Miller, 2020 - TCR - Once I've done that, I might come back to Munga. I think Munga needs a full suspension MTB, which I don't have.

I will be dot watching.

Some nice goals you have there.

BTW - soft tail? You big girl ... I'm riding hardtail. Come join the ass-bashing-party ;)

Edit: PS .... even thought about brining the Niner RLT9, but I'm just not that mad. Although, if you brought yours, we'd have a matching set!
