Probably traced them with the 'stolen' Garmins on Strava

I thought so too

Not only criminals, but stupid too.

By the way, can anyone identify the model of that 'dale and let us know if hat is a R120 or R130k build

Those insurance detectives are sharp hey! I knew a bloke who tried to dodge the high insurance payments on his son's car by claiming it was his. After a fender bender and subsequent claim the insurance detectives staked out the son's place of work, went to the business next door and asked if the son drove that car everyday...busted.

If only we had the same quality detective work in SAPS #wishfulthinking.

It says the Bikes were nicked in Grassy Park Cape Town and tracked to Limpopo

The Bicycles were reported stolen at the Grassy Park Police Station in the Western Cape by the suspect’s father.

The above is from article buddy

in my previous job I worked with offenders, one such man was a senior citizen from Camps Bay who suffered a burglary. He done the insurance thing and one of the items was a R140k Rolex watch. The insurance caught him out. How? simple, when they went to the house for an assessment or something, he had the Rolex on his arm. Apart from the Fraud charge, they also had to charge him for being stupid.

Honestly hope the athlete were not party to this fraud. Can not see any sponsors knocking down your door if you were part of this. Even guilty-by-association might put a relative new career path out of reach.

Guess all will become clearer in the next few weeks.
