Had an awesome day out, started C,finished in 4:55:00,after a snapped chain, taking pics and just chilling/having fun. Hands-down one of the best races I have done, no incidents I heard of,lots of route assistance. Well done to all the finishers

There was a couple of nasty crashes and a heart attack but yes plenty of assistance and was sorted quickly.

I had a comfy ride no problems everything went smoothly and nothing was even remotely as bad as people made it out to be before the race, as this was my first I was expecting the worst and really enjoyed it. It was a bucket list tick as well.

I did it on my CX bike with 32mm slick Conti tyres with no mechanicals, the lack of suspension did leave me a bit shaken up though

Been there, done that. Wont ever  be tempted to get that particular tee-shirt again... :cursing:  :cursing:

Edit: It was by my standards quite fast though....

Well done to all finishers

Just wondering, are there many that start and not finish? Racetec has 3152 finishers, the announcer claimed 3500 entries. Do we have a way to know how many didn't start or were not wearing chip boards? Is there a cut-off?

There are certainly people that start that are not able to finish or miss the cut-off, but I would say most are people who didn't start. Afaik Racetec and the organisers don't share that details.

Good question. I wonder how many were DNS vs DNF.

I can't imagine spending more than 5 hours on this, it will feel like forever. Then again less than that always feels like it's over in a flash.

Theoretically I can do sub 4 (if you copy and paste together all PR segments) but wether I will be able to pull that off in real life over the remaining 2 atempts I have is another question.

Some people claim there is also a medal for finishing your tenth? Is that true, if so I'll have to stick around on the last one.

Anyway, I'm already excited about 2019.
