except this is a blue screen of death, with no screen. it's just invisible blue death!

they've fixed the software for the Fiat500, but not the lower volume models.

Isuzu does not have this problem. The Power is on the left, and the Volume control is the dial on the right, making control thereof very intuitive. In fact, it is so close to the steering wheel, I have resorted to using the dial rather than the steering wheel control, as it is faster that way. I use the steering controls to change tracks / channels. My music is streamed via bluetooth from my phone, which is mounted to to a air vent mounted magnetic phone clip thingamabob. Works a charm. That, combined with "OK Google" means I never touch it while driving.

Much more logical! My Ranger is the pre-facelift XL so it does not even have controls on the steering wheel to compensate!

Man, sometimes I miss my Golf 6...

Here I am often guilty just because I don't switch the bluetooth on my phone on.

I keep it off as it eats your battery having it on unnecessarily

then one can save even more battery by not answering the phone while driving at all :P

Jeez what engine is that? Never seen a starter there before. The starter on the older model isuzu kb sits under the exhaust manifold. Only way to get to it is remove the manifold. Makes a simple job a nightmare.

The same guy must have positioned the alternator.... The battery, turbo intake piping, auxilliary drive belts and aircon compressor need to be removed before you can even see the holding bolts for the alternator. Then some of the bolts need to be removed from underneath before you can remove it from the top...

Auto electrician quoted me 3 hours labour to do the job. I thought he was crazy. Said I would remove it myself. First time it took me 4 hours to get it out... and an hour to put it back. It's been in and out three times since (rectifier, bearings, and rear seal). Doesn't take me 4 hour anymore though

Why, oh why, do power tool companies keep on putting these pathetic things on their tools??????

Purely for safety reasons, you can yank the two prong out in split seconds, the three pronged not so fast...and there you have it!

Safety reasons I hear.

Easier to pull out if you just yank on the cable.  Imagine slipping with an angle grinder in your hand on lock - the two pin plug just pulls out easier than three pins.

Not saying it is good as I change my plugs over asap.

Beat me to it!

I'll show you my left index finger caught in a Makita belt sander with a three pronged plug...I pulled the wires out the plug, but by then the skin was off to the bone. Never changed plugs again

You also don't need an earth connected to the grid with a power tool. But probably more because of your reason.
