Just a final update on this, 3 months after all this started, i finally got (most of) my money for the wheels this morning so its all sorted.

All this fighting with the oke has turned a few hairs grey by now.

I will never understand what his problem is, but if you hear mark raubenheimer just run for the hills, in my opinion of course.

Shot for the advice and hilarious comments everyone.

Good to hear you came mostly right Jacoo, it sucks when honesty is rewarded with manipulation. If it wasn't resolved by now I'd say the easiest way to handle it would simply have been a small claims court docket, sue for the wheels, expenses and court costs- either he returns them and funds and you withdraw, or he defaults and the sheriff gets your reimbursement by lawful force, or they defend it in court and fail. 

Glad you managed to avoid it though, many happy km's wishes for you, with those or any  other wheels!
