No..... Those who don't like my post can either comment constructively, send me a death threat or move on to the next post.

practice what you preach, since you started this pointless inane thread, you yourself haven't commented constructively on your own statement.

It's a bit difficult with a lynch mob holding a knife to your throat.

Also not sure what constructive comments you want me to make. I've said what I wanted, given my opinion and I've made my point.

If it's so pointless why are you following it? Perhaps you should read the other non pointless, less inane threads on the Hub and spend your time more constructively.

Surely real men aren't on BikeHub?

They spend their time constructively uplifting others, productively adding to society through action, good deeds and progressive thinking?

Making a better life for his family or those around him, enabling those who can't while not giving a fiddle about what others think of his achievements, what others are or aren't doing or wasting time arguing pointless opinions with people he doesn't know.

A real man does things for others because he wants to and is not dictated to by trends, social media, kudos, likes or other forms of hollow emotional stimulation.

Real men are rare and none of us here even come close.... But what do I know. I ride a disc roadie and hang out on the internet

I am just waiting for someone to bring up e-road bikes, or have I missed that point...

On a different note, when do we decide the classification have changed?  So we had vintage road bikes (built before a certain year), with another "generation" of bikes being the disc brake ones, all are real bikes just different.

We have progressed from normal pedals to cleats, shifters have changed, hubs have changed, etc..

So to the OPs original statement that he feels the real road bike is dead, because comfort is put above pure speed, for me it is the opposite by understanding what drives speed on the longer route the road bike is continually evolving keeping pace with the higher demands being placed on it.

You're making excuses for not contributing, which is somewhat hypocritical too. You asked for a lynch mob for posting an ignorant opinion.

I'm following it because hoping you come to your senses and understand how pointless your post was and that you'll get an understanding of the negativity your senseless actions cause.

Thanks for your words. As much as I want to respond, this thread is not about personal arguments or attacks, so I offer you the last word of the day award on this little spat.

Feel free to make other comments on my post, but refrain from arguing directly.

So you feeling better having aired what you wanted to say on a social media platform.... you now in need of group hug for it or a round of applause... like you would get at alcoholics anonymous?

Maybe consider some things are better kept to yourself... especially on the pointless front......

If nobody aired their views on social media, then there would be no social media to speak of.
