Momsen bikes, slightly off topic ..... but can we still expect a more trail / gravity orientated bike from the collaboration between yourselves and Morewood bikes that was noted a year or two ago?

Arguably our biggest bike project to date --- the new VIPA ULTRA will be hitting the local trails shortly.

Following it's debut at the 2018 CAPE EPIC, the new bike has seen 6 months of added refinement ( on top of the 18 months of design and development ) as well as extensive riding and testing in South Africa.

Rider feedback and real-world feedback have resulted in various refinements and tweaks to those first bikes debuted in March.

The new and final frames are expected next month ( August 2018 ).

We will be launching a dedicated website and portal for all things ULTRA.

Here we go, the bike with the more subdued colour and graphics

the design we had on the board has been copied and already in the market unfortunately - it would have to be a fresh start all over again ...

I would like to offer my services to test this bicycle in the real world of a weekend warrior who does not have the skill or finesse of serious athletes. What I do have is the ability to test a bike thoroughly with added weight and a belief that I can ride anywhere just not that fast. I also don't have a mechanic on call with a truck full of spares so we have to actually look after things and keep them running properly on a budget.

Hope to hear from you before the Transbaviaans.

tks - but that is where I fit in ... we have the Young Guns in Dylan Rebello and Marco Joubert out racing and railing berms whilst Average Joe's like myself are doing the hard work of mixing it up at the back of the field - I was fortunate enough to be the first rider to do a stage race  ( I use the term " race " very lightly ) on 1 of the 3 prototypes back in early March - pre Cape Epic.

we have a very special rider taking part on the new bike at this year's TransBaviaans .... doubt he will be racing it

Okay so we can accept that Morewood is dead and lives on only in households like ours that harbour a survivor from that bygone era. Sad face.

Nowood... it's a flaccid day indeed

and what is the riding position ?

going for the win, or a hopefully just finishing ?

EDIT:

I mean is this racing geometry or relaxed comfy ?

I feel .... so,so emotional right now.

Because you ask a simple question you get ignored.

My emotions require me to go have some vino. Better make it the good stuff. Straight out the box.

I think they mentioned in one of the earlier posts that it has a flip chip for changing the geo between racy and more relaxed.
