The bigger question is, are you going to go get punched by a Storck rider again? Maybe you can ask Ben Swift to call in favour and get Moscon to come ride for you, maybe it will even things out on the MMA front.

I've been bulking up. Some might call it winter flab, but I prefer to think of it was cross training on the couch! That Storck guy better watch out - he'll get a klap with a greasy KFC drumstick if he tries his nonsense again!

I like your thinking about Moscon. Where others see doom and gloom, you see an opportunity.

The risk is that Moscon isn't just known for his punching abilities, and I'm not sure we can rein in his penchant for racial slurs, or his love of deliberately causing others to crash. My worry is that he uses these skills on his own teammates and non of us make it to the halfway point!

Simple in principle but in practice .... see aforementioned post about herding cats.

That having been said if someone is putting together a team of stragglers I am very easy to herd.

Why not put together a team of stragglers (as someone mentioned before)?

I am sure we can get a team together. Buy in beforehand, deposit entry fee into a communal account and the chosen captain enters the team. Get some shirts made, can decide to stay together or not and bob's your uncle.

Having had a nightmare of a ride few years back in a team with randomly assembled riders I would actually now rather miss out that risk that experience again...

This is the one race I am now very fussy about who I ride with.

That said seems this year I got a spot in a team with nice people... Lets hope we can get an entry!

Alternatively if you need someone to burn-off, give me a shout.

If you have a spot -- I'll do my best to keep up and if I can do my share on the front too ....

Serious?

Come join our team. The earliest we've dropped someone is on the road out of Swellendam up to the N2. Pretty much 200kms on your own :P

pick me pick me. I will be the lead out to the start line, at which point I pill pop like a champagne cork and have legs like jelly and then freewheel home with the champagne .... and claim a medal of sorts

Serious?

I have some questions:

How fast can you ride 202kms?

What's your take on being cannon fodder for pros?

How does your psyche handle being dropped 3 times in one race? (That's if you're having a good day)

How does your psyche handle getting to the checkpoint only to discover that the backup vehicle, with all your snacks and juice etc, has already left? (That's if you're having a bad day)

Through and off, or take as long a turn as possible?

Do you stay to party afterwards, or go home right after finishing?

A little research and a whatsapp from a mate has shown me that perhaps I'm not the most eligible candidate for your team ... but I'll answer the questions.

I've never ridden 202 kms - I have a 3.15 Argus and generally average 30-32kmph in the local CT road races.

Cannon fodder --- I'm more like a small snack for a cannon than a whole heap of fodder. I know my place.

I get dropped all the time and my psyche is generally stoic and accepting of my suffering.

Support vehicle?!? ... pah .. luxury

If I'm in pain I'm through and off quickly. If noone wants to pull and I've got legs I can't hold myself back ..... a character flaw I exhibit at buffets too.

I socialise if I like the people but generally I'm a misanthropic bastard.

But overall, given what I know about who you okes are I think I should probably try get those cats of mine herded ... I see some of them popping up on my strava feed again so maybe ...

Chat to Rikus, if you need a guy to put down 300w till the first climb, and then forget about them, give me a call.... Edited by Patchelicious

Dude, I’ve seen your numbers. You are plenty strong enough for this team.

Um..... no

If they disappear at the first climb maybe you and I could help each other through the pain that would be our lot.
