That would be rad but there's a whole host of contenders and I think he might be a good dark horse bet. Podium material though.

Teammates are not going to be worth much once they reach the final climb, gonna be mano-a-mano, attacking riding, me hopes...

mmm, not sure who this really suits, so really a great type of course.

potential to shed the pure sprinters by halfway, and a bumpy ride in the closing circuits.

 

I think it will be important to have a decent team here, but Sagz never seems to need one.

Great junior girls race. Awesome to see Austrian take a home win in only her 2nd road race. She is a mtb xco world champ as well. Even better to see her ouwit the Italian who ended 4th out of the group of 4. When she was guaranteed a medal she played games and ended up losing out. Hard lesson.

It is a classic type race.. distance and profile wise.. those early bumps in the road is far too early in the race to shed the classics riders.

Not a bad podium.

 

I think Kwiatkowsi will also be very dangerous ...also the Yates twins and the protected rider in the Columbian squad.

 

Despite the fact that he claims to be short of top form and might work for Moscon I will not discount Nibali ...Moscon is probably going to struggle on the very steep climbs so i doubt whether he is a real contender.

 

Should be a great race to watch.
