It was a simple a start...buy a bike...road bike...easy enough. Then came...'have you tried mtbing?'...being a girl, I needed one of those 26ers...but wait... then came 29ers! needed one of those.

Back to the road bike... now we have 25mm tyres. My frame can only take 23... must have one of those new frames that will provide a more comfortable ride, and besides, my road bike is 8yrs old.

Get said new road bike... actually a GREAT DEAL 2ND HAND CARBON EVERYTHING BIKE. ahhh... New said bike has tubeless tyres... road tubeless! Who would have thought!? Sealant required in new SAID 2ND HAND GREAT DEAL BIKE. She searches price of new said tubeless road tyre... get the picture?

Any regrets? Never. Solution... n+++++++ on any cycling related item... cycling mates too.

OK I am having a bit of a dumb moment could be that I have not had my coffee yet but what is n+1 and s-1.

While the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1 , where n is the number of bikes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1 , where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

I am currently on N. The +1 not required.

* Pimped trail bike, nice and light.

* Super light dual sus XC/Marathon racer.

* Slightly older hardtail 29'er that's been built up with 1.5" cyclecross/city tyres that are pretty much bombproof. Commuting and do-anything bike.

If a +1 does become required... it might be a Momsen gravel bike. (Then again, my bastard bike above is virtually a gravel bike) Hmmmmmm.

You are missing a road bike, a TT bike, a bike specifically for the indoor trainer, a fat bike and a single speed... Once you have those I am sure the hub will be able to come up with additional +1's.
