#justsaying

I'll happily crucify whoever you are trying to implicate AFTER they have been caught doping.

For now, I am happy to enjoy the show

Echo's of 1985 1986

Thomas does not have the legs. Bernal does

Ineos have backed the wrong horse now they're #&%@=!

Bernal has so far not done any work for Thomas so perhaps the Team leadership was honest when they said they are co- leaders.

Bernal also nearly popped today but somehow managed to fight back  so it's not easy to choose between the 2 right now imo.

Long way still to go.

Alwys enjoy the show????

(But also remember that very few high profile dopers ever get caught. Although it was blatantly obvious, LA was clean as can be according to cycling authorities, till the FBI got involved)

Bernal went to the front to slow the gc group when Thomas was dropped. He didn't take the lead at all. He worked for Thomas today.

Jip, agreed.

I have accepted that many pro athletes dope, across all sporting codes. IMHO, if a specific sport has zero doping violations, then all it tells you is that they aren't testing properly. It is human nature to want to get that extra edge.

To be fair, just because you are placed number 1, does not mean that you alone are doping. The guy who popped today and lost 10min today might also have doped, but because he did worse than you nobody is rasing doping allegations against him.

Let's raise the doping topic again once an Adverse Analytical Finding is made public, before then we are doing the riders a disservice by insinuating they are breaking the rules without having proof of it.

I often wonder why people turn on the television to watch sport if they believe that the athletes are cheating?

I think there are roughly the following groupings of people:

1:The naive:"Elite sports people are ALL completely ethical and none of them are even thinking about pushing the rules."

2.The cynics:"Look at rider X, he is doping for sure, probably paid off the local anti-doping agency to ensure he doesn't get caught out."

3.The ones that we lost:"I told you all of them are dopers. Let's rather watch a clean sport. Like Athletics, or Crossfit"

4. Those that fall somewhere in between all of that:"Hey, Froomie got awarded another GC title after the previous winner got sanctioned. I am happy they are that diligent to revisit events from 8 years back.BTW,this TDF is exciting! "

Some of us live in this fantasy world where honour and integrity rule. Until reality kicks us in the nuts and our heroes fall we try and fool ourselves that we are watching a real contest.
