Where is the best place to park?

At home, ride to the start ;)

Seriously, I prefer to park at a nearby shopping centre and ride the final 2km,nice warmup.

Brooklyn Mall is an option. Flat Rate parking.

Everything was great today, some lekker climbs on the route and had to summon my inner Allaphillipe to descend at pace to catch up with the front again a couple of times after slipping off on the steep stuff.

I even managed to get to the bottom of the finishing drag with the front of BL but had no legs to stick with them.

Thanks to the organisers for a great event!

I think they can nail down this route for future events, nothing else needed.

Great route and well organized but a little disappointed at the finish line as there wasn’t much happening , no music or hand outs?. Although I was confused as to where exactly the finish was?? (After the timing mats a couple hundred meters and then 4-5 gazebos with drinks?, or was there more further up?

Also a lot of road kill on the roads! Otherwise well enjoyed

Yeah ditto re the finish line. Asked someone where the finish line was... "You went over it back down there."

Ditto re the roadkill. Weird. Even saw a hedgehog.

Great event. Well done to the organizers. The music at the start didn’t exactly get the blood flowing.

Looking at the results, seems numbers were down about 600 from last years entries on the long route.

I hear you but I just loved everything, except the road kill. The race village was up at the monument with plenty of coffee trailers and food. They were having a wheelchair race when I was there and I think a toddler race after. Somehow I think it's better as parking was a breeze and getting out of the event was also quick. Unlike 94.7 it's a mission in and out and the race village is also some way away from the finish. I hope it's the same setup next year for Tshwane except the start line music wtf????

Had no idea there was a race village up at the monument... Not that I was going to trek up there anyway after having passed my car on the way to the finish line. [emoji39]

I read there were some issues with the elites race being stopped twice. Riders taking wrong turns and missing Tom Jenkins????

Yup we got uitgekak for crossing the white line on the Henops road and then uitgekak again for protests against the first uitkak

Then I believe the main peleton got directed on the 50km route... I had a mechanical 100m short of the 98/50km split and figured something was wrong when I got to the top of TJ in my solo chase back and everyone was looking at me like I’m leading the whole race

Sorry to say for elites I found the marshaling to be pretty shoddy, I had to ask for directions and ride around barricades in the road coming up to soutpansberg road before turning on to TJ

I rode in the C bunch ..

The first confusion was on Madiba Street where the was a left turn onto Steve Biko for the 98km route. We almost went straight on with the short distances riders.

Then after TJ climb, I was solo while passing a few short distance riders. I can almost guarantee I seen the road marked on Eastwood street said 98km was straight, whereas everybody went left.

I followed the road marking little to find out I was lost and had to find my own way back onto the route..

Other than this, I think this is a fantastic route. Challenging but not too insane. The front of C really put me in the red zone.

Made it with them to the highway and then got dropped with a teammate..
