Why do you need volunteers when there is a massive EXCO who can do it themselves?

Everyone already giving as much of their personal time as they can afford (some more than others) and do not want to take on more responsibility. Not willing to spend more money on a web site.

Can contract someone to do this, but that will just take money from us possibly assisting a rider in the future. So we do without. At least the contact details on there is up to date so our members can get hold of us and we answer the phone and emails. More than what some other regions can say at this point in time.

Bottom line is that there are very few takers for positions where your own resources must be used and your personal time must be given freely.

We can go back to spending loads of money on admin and General management and do nothing much for cycling like in the previous couple of years. Problem is that you old dogs have seen this movie before where things get fixed and slowly go down the tubes, then get fixed agaain etc etc .........

Now how did this morf into a CGC discussion?

Hi Scotty

This is a new site as the previous one was costing us a bunch of money and not much was happening. We will gladly accept the services of an individual that is willing to run the web site and post regular content. This needs to be a free service of course.

If you need any CGC info, just email us at admin@cgcycling.co.za

or call Deneye at 011 782 1393

I have to say that your website is non existant and appalling

Surely someone on your committie can spend a few hours a month updating. And if there is not someone in your region who can do it with a bit of effort it would be piss poor. Its always the same.

To be fair it is an "information" website and doesn't really need constant updates apart from financials and contact updates (maybe a few announcements on teams and provincial races). There are plenty of websites that cover racing, calendars, results, news etc. What would you want to see on this site?

Edit: My bad - just had a quick looks through - looks like someone started the website then just stopped 10% of the way through....

Everyone is doing what exactly? Because the way I see it, if everyone was doing their job properly which includes disseminating information via social media or website, or email..... then we would not be having this discussion or many of the other discussions!!

What you are actually saying is the crux of the problem with CSA and am guessing CGC in that the EXCO, committee or whatever you want to call it do not want to interact with their customer base being the cyclists as they have no interest in spending time or money on the vital link between the two, being that of having a current and fully functioning platform, be it social media or website etc!!

Therein lies the problem and unfortunately you are becoming part of the problem by making excuses!!!

You can definitely retire at any time, so I assume you can discontinue your license for other reasons too.  You'd have to let them know.  Possibly in writing.

no. you just dont pay the fee for the next year.

your racing licence is only issued once you have paid and valid for the year,
