More people watched XCO than DH in 2018!

It was an awesome year for XCO - the Van Der Poel factor, the return of the Eliminator, awesome battles in both mens and womens races. Whats not to love?

I know I watched XCO religiously this year - especially the women's racing. The battles between the top 4/5 women was insane. Men's XCO I also watched but less than last year - with Nino's domination it makes for less entertaining TV...

DH I mostly watched top 10 guys. Women's race is boring (IMO - domimation by a few names). Men's racing interesting in terms of who will win - but you are watching essentially the same thing over and over again for a 2 hours.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. The racing itself is more entertaining than a time attack sort of approach, so you get to see in real time who is best. It's also bloody good racing, sometimes.

XCO getting more technical (more Red Bullish) certainly helped its cause too!

yes, agree that the woman's racing was exceptional this year. With Emily Batty having a great year and Yolanda Neff now on the same team, things may get even better in 2019. Although, we will have Alan H racing elites in 2019.....

Personal highlight for me was the ladies XCO this year, some good racing and a couple new riders showing promise ... 2019 is going to be a great racing season for the ladies XCO.

Actually with DHI, you are not so much watching the race, as having to listen to Rob Warner ramble on. 2 hours of that gets tedious in my books.

Yup, don't forget ol' Claudio.

What I've realised is I get bored if I watch it from the start. Now I just tune in for the 10 ten as well.

One of the great things with XCO viewing is you also get to see almost all sections of the track being ridden from start to finish, as opposed to rider in the start gate and then the next shot is the rider a minute or so into their run. Still enjoy DHI but it's not quite like Rampage where you can see a top to bottom run for all riders (understand why the limitations are there, but still)

Absolutely loved the XCO this year, in fact watched all the races all a few times now. Ladies competition was smoking hot in all aspects.

Downside for me is Rob Walnut and to a much lesser extent BB, although at least BB has a knowledge of broader cycling and the world. Rob just carries on and on with the few tidbits he picks up, he does not really bother to learn who the rest of the field are or what their story is, and often misses action whilst he rambles on.

I think the RBTV XCO English commentary team can def. do with a refresh.

RW is energetic, exciting and clueless. BB is knowledgeable, inside the sport and dead pan boring. If the two if them had a love child it would be the perfect commentator :-)
