Anyone play (I mean fly...ahem) DCS-World? I am keen on getting going on that, and have watched some cool videos on YT. There is even a former USAF F16/USN F18 pilot who has a channel that flies sorties here.

Technology has improved hey  :whistling:  ^_^  (I know it was a typo :whistling: ).

Our test flights are conducted at 39000ft. We just had an A319 do a post CKC test flight and the APU failed to start at 39000ft. Starts perfectly on the ground. She is tired though, only has about 200hrs left before overhaul but we still loose out on the 200hrs which is about 4 to 6 weeks. The irony is had it been in another aircraft we would have gotten the 200 hrs because the chances of starting those APUs in flight are slim to not at all and even if you do it's just before landing so they low already.

All of this just shows you that you are on one of mans greatest inventions. Maybe I am just bias but an aircraft is just head and shoulders above anything else out there.

Top of the list, yes. Although the first G&T on a Friday after a long week runs it close.....

Picked this up on FR leaving Pretoria (PRY) this morning

You sure?  Could not have been heavily loaded then as I would reckon the runway would be a tad short for full payload takeoff.  Could you give flight info so I could also have a look on FR24 please

Cant pick it up on my side anymore.

Should mention also that it didn't display any flight info apart from the aircraft ID and origin (PRY).

Maybe a diplomatic/CIA flight? That would probably be light?

The plane picture is a little misleading, it isn't flying under those colours by AA- AA having replaced them some 18 years ago according to the web.

I also thought it odd. I imagine the aircraft was sold on by AA and that's the only photo that exists for that reg.

You just have to laugh if you compare the Eurofighter exhauste smoke with the Phantom.

I for some reason never really like the PHantom that much.  The only fighter aircraft that is uglier is the A7 Corsair and the Lightning.

Yes I know the Phantom served the US forces well for many years and it is a good aircraft but I just don't like the aircraft.

If the link works - its clips of the Japanese F4's with the sound track of Topgun 2 overlaid- pretty cool. I always liked the F4 - in particular the engine nozzle recesses, and the way the Sparrows were flush-fitted.
