wtf

I am also thinking they are speaking foreign here.

LOL.

In short, AMOS is the software that tracks everything we do. You create all the paperwork to do a job. You order all you spares, tools etc. You do EVERYTHING in AMOS. So absolutely everything needs to be loaded in AMOS. All serial numbers are in AMOS so when I remove and fit a part I need to make sure that it is all correct on AMOS. At any given time you can check a specific part and see where it is fitted, how many hours/cycles etc that it has done. AMOS is very time consuming but it can be very helpful at times. I am a SLT(Senior Licensed Technician) so a lot of my work is on AMOS. I very seldom do any "dirty" work anymore, I more watch and make sure the job gets done properly and assist when a technician is struggling. I then need to sign off on all the work. The technician goes and signs for his work done on AMOS, I then go and sign for his work and then sign the entire job off and declare it serviceable and print a serviceable label. This is the first time I actually physically sign something. Once the job is done and I or my supervisor have closed the job on AMOS we then print a final workpack that is all the work we uploaded into AMOS. We then all stamp and sign next to our names.

Not sure I'd be happy to eat a pre-packed meal prepared by a disgruntled employee who was only at work because the courts have forced him or her....

with so many interdicts against strikes, i wonder when the judicial dam wall is going to be breached, and unprotected strikes become order of the day again. the country's financials are not good, and government dithering on key reforms is putting enormous pressure on existing work providers. At some point, gatvol is going to become an understatement.

One can see the heritage of the B1B from the F111

They dropped the escape capsule idea in the B1A prototypes in favor of tradition ejection seats

Don't know why but this is one of my all time favorite aircraft. As a lightie I had a poster of one flying low over some water with the water in the background being violently disturbed. I still remember seeing it at a waterkloof airshow many years ago. That sound as it rocketed into the sky was goose bump stuff.

i remember that image, but i think it was fake. Didn't care though, it awe inspiring, and similarly, one of my favorite child hood memories of fighter jets.

What LWB is actually saying:

The aircraft is not serviceable and returned to service until the weight of the paperwork = the maximum take off weight of the applicable aircraft

Yeah AMOS is no where near a paper friendly program. You get paper-free cockpits but the maintenance stuff makes up for that. Kinda like washing a bar-one down with a coke zero.
