Had an RS super deluxe on my last bike and have a DPX2 on my current bike. I'll take the DPX2 all day every day. That being said the super deluxe was very good - though it could be argued that it was just the DW link on the Evil that was the good part of the equation.

When it comes to rear shocks Fox really are brilliant.

I think the RS would be a better choice especially if you on the heavy side. Fox blows though its midstroke support easily. I had a Fox evol on my previous bike and constantly blew through the travel.

But Pieter, email Bailey, ask his advise. Tell him your weight and riding style etc.  He works with suspension tune for GG.

Thanks Dude. Bailey left a few months ago. I’ll have a chat with Bobby and see what he says.

I found the opposite - blew through the travel on the RS very fast (I'm 100kg). DPX2 has excellent mid-stroke support. But I guess it has alot to do with the suspension design on the bike too.

On my old Fox DPS Evol I blew through even faster than the RS Super Deluxe.

Fox shocks are easier to revalve and most bikes come stock tuned for riders between 60-75kgs

So if you're out of that range talk to your local guru to have the shock revalved

I’ll have to look into this i.e how to do it myself. There are no gurus in my neck of the woods.

Cogent Industries are a stones throw away from you :)

It's fairly involved and you might need different shims which are pretty hard to find never mind the service itself

Thanks guys. It’s going onto a GG megatrail.

I'd be looking about for an X2 for that bad boy! I've had the DPX2 recently and found it very supportive throughout. I very good little shock that performs brilliantly but I recently upgraded to the X2 and it's awesome... total difference, which is a little weird because I had it on my Orange Stage 5 and hated it. On the Ripmo though it's perfect which again is a little odd as the original DPX2 has been tuned specifically for that frame but I just found it a bit too 'taunt' throughout the travel even after fettling.

I’m in Kuwait. Here are only basic bike services available. I could take it there next year July tho but I want to ride in the meantime. I’ll have a look and see if someone in Dubai can manage to do it.

Thats interesting. I’ve sent the GG guys a mail, will wait to hear what they reckon. Thanks for all the advice guys I appreciate it. I’m a total ds noob.

they may be able to do any tuning for you while the bike is still in the states given your body weight, etc.

Can anyone tell me which on line shop was talking on this thread about having the xt/slx 4 pots in stock?

They even posted some adds in the classifieds and now I can't find them after wrecking my levers today.... typical

FYI, I bought some of the new SLX 4 pot (M7120) brakes from Easybike.

One downhill race and a few trail rides later, and I can tell you they are amazing, with some serious stopping power. Great feeling levers as well. I can highly recommend them. I don't have experience with the XT version, so can not comment on that.

That is the feedback I got from a few other guys as well.

I went full Pikey magpie and bought a set of Hope E4's. As Bob Barker would say, The Price was right and I got to pay cash and not 'real' money.

So now my bike will bling like a bad taste bedazzled denim jacket but hopefully slow down and stop as effectively as the ANC steals tax payers money!

If they aren't literally the most amazing lever I have ever pulled I will sell them, hopefully via EFT and get the Shimano 4 pots.

and what pikey colour did you get? Hopefully something like a garish purple....

They probably won't feel amazing at all. I was super underwhelmed coming off Curas and wondered what I'd done for the first few rides. I then got 203mm rotors front and back, got used to them and then it all became clear.
