Ryan23 Posted March 12, 2019 Share Hi there, I have been cycling now just going on a year and found that I am getting sick quite often , which never used to happen I would maybe go to the doctor every 2 years but now it seems like I am going every 2 months, anyone out there that had the same problem ? How did you overcome it ? Did you take supplements? Change in diet ? Please help
fanievb Posted March 12, 2019 Share have your doc check for allergies.the more I started training the more I got "sick" ended up being allergies as I got exposed to allergies more during training (think breathing with open mouth etc.) slickjay007
MrJacques Posted March 12, 2019 Share How often and far are you riding? It could be overt raining / under recovery. Andrea Fletcher 3l3v3n and slickjay007

dave303e Posted March 12, 2019 Share EPOHerbalifeCreatineWhey ProteinTesto Boost2x Vit B jabs/weekSniff a vial of rabies on race dayAnd I added some tobasco to the sex lube just to keep every aspect of life spicy. On a more serious note...Steri stumpy, well planned rest days and enough food should be enough if your training is set up well.Sometimes some protein shakes when I just need to pack on a few kg. MrJacques Posted March 12, 2019 Share I mainly do my longer rides on the weekends 80km on Saturday and over 100 km on sundays I'd need a rest day between rides like that. Some of the things I take and do: Take Vitamin C and Z most daysUse ginger in my foodWash hands before eatingTry not to touch my face with unwashed hands That being said I do have some sinus issues and allergies, but a lot of people here in PE seem to have. RobertWhitehead Posted March 12, 2019 Share Try pushing less on a Sunday, you're not giving your body time to recover. Remember: fitness is built during the rest days . Lexx

robbybzgo Posted March 12, 2019 Share Here are a few ideas on boosting immunity...Moducare capsules,Astragalus & Echinacea & Elderberry TincturesOlive Leaf tinctures or capsules,Vitaminc C and Zinc Reduce your usage of sugar..cut out fizzy drinks & sweets and icing on buns and cakes,(Include all forms of junk food) Have a food allergy test done at a reputable lab (quite expensive)so that you can avoid foods that are basically poisoning your system. Avoid taking antibiotics whenever possible unless itis going to save your life... Lastly...heal your gut.Take good quality plain yogurt or kefir (if intolerant to dairy) for good pro-bioticsFermented vegetable juices add good enzymes...Digestive enzymes will help with nutrient absorbance. It can take quite a long time to turn ones system around but giveit 3 to 6 months...nothing happens overnight. PS: Agree with a previous point - don't push your system too hard.Rest and recovery is just as important as training hard. Good luck!(The above is just a suggestion...use it...don't use it) Chris_
robbybzgo Posted March 12, 2019 Share If this doesn't work consider a scan for intestinal parasites...they rob your system of energy & nutrition.
'Dale Posted March 12, 2019 Share You’re still at novice level, roughly speaking, from the little data I have. Ask an experienced cyclist or coach to look at your training load and recovery strategies. Never discount life stress and how it subtlety impacts on your health. Sterkte. ✊???? Martin PJ Posted March 13, 2019 Share Resting is as important as training. Train a lot and if you find you don't feel super strong now and then during rides, you are riding too hard and / or not resting enough. I have been riding for many years, find as I get older I race better if I don't push as hard on the training rides. I am riding on Sundays with a very strong group, so basically need to act my age. I second what people are saying about hand washing and sinus / allergies. I take Flomist as chronic medication to manage allergies and sinusitis. Works very well. Dexter-morgan Posted March 13, 2019 Share We as a family stick to Vitamin C with some olive leaf extract, dope at change of seasons and we normally last throughout winter without having to go to the doc(Quack).
