I never sell my old bikes - that's why I now have 5 COLNAGOS / 1 TREK road bike & 3 MTB's - My wife is convinced i need therapy

I'm convinced your wife needs hypnosis to overcome her irrational issues with your bikes  (like mine, but I'm too chicken to say it out loud at home  )

Let me start by saying that I am not looking to buy a new bike, Got my new steed less than 2 years ago and still in the honeymoon stage with it. This just occurred to me after reading a few threads about new bikes on here.

Does anyone else have mixed emotions about buying a new bike? I mean on the one hand there is the excitement of a new steed and all the joy that comes with it, but, on the other hand is the parting with your old bike that has served you well over many rides.

Never became attached to inanimate objects ....as silly as giving them names....buy them sell them.

I still have all my bikes except my first ever 26 inch mtb NISHIKI that was stolen(In around 1993/94). From my first bike that both me and my boet learnt to ride on to the tandem I did my first argus on. Very few of them are actually going but I will have to be very desperate to sell them. There would be plenty other things I would sell first.

Never sell a bike, just buy the new one as well.Bikes are herd machines and promiscuous and you can never have too many, even if your wife thinks so!!

I'm married to an absolute angel. Recently bought sommer two "new" bikes, and when I told her I'll sell the Giant she said no, why?

Not quite the same, but Giant are replacing a broken frame on my MTB, and I have contemplated  taking the old, broken frame and hanging it on the wall of my home office (where pretty much nobody but me goes), surrounded by a few pics of where I have ridden it. Since it has broken I have been thinking a lot about the journeys it has been on with me to and from from SA multiple times, UK multiple times, USA and many journeys around Ireland.

Not normally emotional about things, but some good memories there.

Thats what I meant. Its hard losing a bike, whether its a sale, theft or broken, I like to think they always stay with us.

If these were in my garage, I would not have a wife anymore!

Your wife is wrong - 10 is a problem

No way is 10 a problem!  It's just a number on your way to a dozen......and beyond!

There are times when it's best just to say nothing ....

I only recently started following you on twitter and I have yet to see the same bike posted twice and I suspect it will be a while until I see a duplicate. You like the Jay Leno of the bike world.
