Oh cry me a river... on the other side of Stellenbosch there's land invasions and farmers getting shot but here we're concerned about one oke riding on a half built trail... let's get real peeps, there's bigger things to worry about in this country.

Half built... Clearly you live nowhere near. Go back to your rock...

Slightly off topic, where are all the people now that normally shout "mind your own business"?

This behavior start with our fellow hubber that text and drive, skip read lights while cycling etc.

Then they want us to say nothing about it, but when this happens they also have the pitchforks out.

If you ignore the road rules, etc it is easy to ignore closed trails, because the SA mentality is that if I can get away without being caught it has nothing to do with you!

Here he is...

It's part of the same problem - rules don't apply to me.

Ignore the minor stuff and it gets bigger. Throw one chip packet into the bush and everyone else will think it's ok because there were no consequences for the last guy. Lawlessness breeds more of the same, and once it's started it's very difficult to get back again.

I agree there are more serious problems to solve, but that doesn't make the smaller ones less important.

Because as human beings we are completely unable to deal with more than one problem at a time?

We should stop cycling until crime is completely solved in the country?

It starts with the small things. This is why SA is in such a mess.

People pee on the streets, drive at ridiculous speeds and don't stop at red lights.

This is a cycling forum and it's cycling related so guess the OP has the right to complain here. The farmers can complain on the Agri forums if they like.

This is bikehub where we all come to trash/flame other cyclists no matter what else is going on or wether it has anything to do with us directly or not and dont you interfere with that by pointing out how pointless it is ........... ...

I'm not saying it isn't an issue but this "we" issue seriously grates my tits. I'm doing more than my bit to try catch the motorbikers and hi-jackers hanging around on the the Bottelary Hills trails as well but to banish all mtber's because of one oke? Really? For all they know it could be kids mucking about after school... or a farm worker? Are we all expected to now go and do trail patrol after work?

Apparently:

If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves

I just though of something. There is another way to get onto gutted baboon along the top of the trail. There is a route splitting off to the left as you approach this entrance taht takes you back towards eden and up above the tree line.. Was that route closed off / marked as close also?

That meets up with the trail again before this point.

Then why the hell are you spending time on the Hub? Or on a bike for that matter? Much bigger things to spend your time on than a kid's toy and a website dedicated to said kid's toy.

How can anyone care about this? We have plastic polluting our oceans, global warming, starving people, most of the world below the bread line, Trump is ruining the world for Huweii owners, the Queen is going to die soon, Massive deforestation issues, an impending global recession.......

Pfffft..... I'm with Buff_SA, who cares about this? We should obviously tackle all problems from the top! The biggest ones first, because yeah.... The smaller ones don't matter at all because scale!

Before you flame me, it's relevant! Because I agree with a guy with an underscore in his username! Boom!
