Speaking of NTT, that guy in the break, his flared bars really make him look like a fun rider. I just can't get my support behind a team with so little style.

A sprint is not a static picture. Look at the actual video clips. Sagan clearly and deliberately went into the other rider. Hell, his own team management said he deliberately went for the other rider.

I don't know what picture you refer to, but it sounds like one where Van Aert is leaning back in an effort to stay upright - ie. after Sagan's original untoward movement.

Exactly - Race officials look at video, not static photos.

I was going to reply to a previous post after watching another video, but then felt enough is enough. But I will say that Sagan knew how to force his way through, and kids will look at this and think it's okay to do. Thing is, Sagan move was skillful, but reckless - and WvA's reaction was also skilfull, but necessary to avoid falling.

Excellent point

Sprinting for the win is not for sissies, stuff happens and riders have to react instantly.

Anyway, no good crying over spilt milk

Hey JW, who would have thought...15 years ago we were arguing over LA on The Hub TDF thread... and now look where you are ????

Did you ever think back in those days this is where you would end up?

I get asked that a lot lately and the answer is no. It wasn’t a “goal” of mine either. It also nearly never happened for this year also cause I got a offer to go back and train a Factory MX team in USA this year that was a really good gig but then decided to renew here for 2020/21.

It just seemed the right thing to do and glad I did.

So yes, never thought this it just lead to where I am now.

Yip, Caleb and I speak basically daily. I’ve been with him since he was 9 and seeing where he is today is really special for me.

Not saying but it was very hard to turn down but I think it was the right call now.

Bennet and Caleb dropped.. Sagan at the front of peloton now driving it hard

Edit: If Sagan can win today he gets 30 points back for the green jersey.

Bennett dropped up this climb. The Bora' machine kicks into gear and this is where the fantastic all-round ability of Sagan is such a persistent threat to other green jersey contenders.

Meanwhile, the Slovakian responded to the media after yesterday:

“You know, I saw that the barriers were pretty close, but after the middle of the barriers there was something with branding, some pole there, going 90 degrees out. If I keep going like that for sure I am going to touch it with my handlebars, so I moved a little bit left. I didn’t think it was a dangerous move. I don’t think so."

Bennett's lead (currently) is 70 after the intermediate sprint, so Sagan can reduce the deficit to 40 if he wins, legally.

10km to the finish of stage 4 at TA for those looking for some action right now. GC contenders having a go at each other in the run-in.

What happened with The MainCheese - I heard he attacked on a climb?

After some fierce attacking on that climb Sagan is still with the peloton.

Bora have Schachmann in the chase group
