Out of interest did you consider ExpressVPN? They seem to pop-up whenever I look into VPN options?

 

Payment with a non-SA card is going to be problematic..[emoji3525]

I went with NordVPN based on a number of good reviews.

 

I might give Express VPN before November (Black Friday) as my renewal for NordVPN is due next week.

GCN I also need a vpn and they are clearly connected

So nothing without a vpn unless I like Cecil nurse ads ?

They are in conjunction with Eurosport.  I watched via Eurosport and throughout the Criterium du Duphine it was often mentioned Eurosport/GCN.

Pretty much on the money there. Only thing is GCN will take your money with what ever card you have.

Two weeks ago we were not even on the list. Give it a little bit of time and I'm sure we will see way more events on there.

What is the best option to Live Stream the Tour de France.

From what I can see you need a VPN and then subscribe to one of the overseas broadcasters.

Any other better options available

 

 

if you go via a VPN then you better have a fast download speed. 20mb might just cut it at 460p

All my streaming is at 720p, which is good enough for me. That’s with up to 4 devices connected at the same time, on a 10Mbps line.

As far as I understand the GCN App on your phone allows you to cast to a Smart TV or to a Google Chromecast.

 

Does your TV have that functionality?

 

To do this, you would need to have your router configured to use the VPN, and not just using the VPN app on your phone, as the chromecast/TV would also need to be connecting to the same VPN.  Essentially an all or nothing approach.

Any of the VPN users here noticed much speed difference when switching over? Read a few reports online that there's a fair bit of overhead when using the VPN.

There was a 50% off offer some where and I got it for £19.99 odd. My VPN does bring the overall speed to me device quite alot if you do a couple of speed tests  but at the same time its not affected the streaming.

it seems that we will not be able to watch the Tour though as it's not listed as one of the races for South African viewing...
